I kinda think he's the wrong guy to be returning punts anytime there's a better than average chance that the punt is going to be a touchback....I know he had the 92 yarder and all that, which means according to my way of thinking, he wouldn't have even been returning punts in that situation, but I think the Floridas/Georgias of the world have too many atheletes for him to be able to get a decent return off when they are punting from around the midfield area, and his hands aren't worth the risk....I think if they are punting from a place where the punter's going to try and punt the ball as far as he can, give Trindon the chance...otherwise, I'd have my best hands down there....

Look for him to have a great game
Saturday. He just had a bad game. Auburn has a great coverage. Those guys were right on him both times.

Miles really likes TH back there at punt returner, so look for him against Moo st. He's simply too big a weapon for them to give up on him at this point.

Heard Miles say something about that after the last game.

He shouldn't return punts. Keep using him as before: KR,RB, slot man, reverse, pass receiver.

It is obvious to me. Trindon fields punts like someone who is not very good at judging the distance of the punt. That is why he always has to catch the punt on the move. Thats why Chad Jones is so sure handed due to his baseball background playing outfield. He is always settled under the punt making it much easier to catch. Trindon seems to be moving back moving foward or even to side as he is catching the ball making it very difficult for someone his size to field it cleanly, thats why it hits his chest pad and he drops it.

He has smaller hands, it doesnt suprise me he fumbled on punt returns. Its not a big deal, I like him coming in at RB and KR.

his problem is with the trajectory of the punts...NT's punts were more like kickoffs. You could see on the 2 muffs at Auburn that he was several yards out of position to make the catch and tried to adjust too late...one he ran up on and one back. The better teams we play are going to go for high, hang-time punts against him vs. boomers. Chad Jones should be back there every time vs. Florida, regardless of how TH does vs MSU

+1 I can see how his background can judge the flight of the ball a little better; however, Chad has also tried to catch some impossible punts in the past, so who's decision making is going to be better overall when given the chances?

Maybe he goes into outfielder mode and has conception that not making the catch= frickup.

I think he was just having an off day.. he'll likely be back for Moo State.
He was muffing every punt (and I mean every one, I'm not exaggerating) in the warmups prior to the Auburn game. Our whole section was watching him, and I turned to my friends and said, he's going to miss one during the game, I have a bad feeling. And dammit if that isn't what happened.

Trindon is NOT a punt returner! He was tried 2 years ago early in the 2006 season and he had the same problem of fielding a punt, particularly in heavy traffic. He fumbled and LSU lost the ball and he wasn't back there until this year's NORTH TEXAS game. Trust me. I would love to see him used in this capacity, but let's face it. It takes a special skill to field punts not just being able to run with the ball. Unless Trindon magically gets better in practice this week I say keep Chad Jones on the punt return team.

they say the big games are won on special teams play... all it takes is losing one of those punts inside the 10 or even worse....the endzone!!! then guess what...it becomes that much harder to get momentum back!!!

Concerned.... No. If he never plays another down LSU will go on without him. I hope he can find a spot on the team doing something productive as he can be a real terror in open field.

After hearing Les Miles after the game I am sure we will see him in some capacity.

he was just trying too hard to bust a big play, but almost cost us the game...twice!!! I really like the kid, but noone punts to him anymore. I think it would be smarter to stick with Chad Jones, at least he knows where the cutoff is for a fair catch...call it a mistake if you want, but trying to fair catch on your own 5 yd. line is just plain stupid!!! Before you get mad at me, think what you would have been saying about the "Bottle Rocket" if we wouldn't have recovered that last fumble, and we lose...Keep in mind the fact that Chad Jones is not the slowest kid on the team I'd go with him!

He'll be fine.
Like a QB throwing 4 interceptions or a running back fumbling 3 times in a game, Trindon had an off day and will work harder to return to the lineup.
He'll prolly light up Moo U
