some may forget that blue started the 2nd game of the year his true fr year. he has also suffered some minor injuries both seasons at LSU so far so that may also be a factor as to why he is under the radar to some. the fact is alfred blue is a unique rb in our repetoire of solid rbs. i think ware and hilliard will have to split carries because they are the most similar backs, but these guys are going to get a ton of carries. les loves to run it right at you and ware and hilliard have an advantage there. blue is also more of power back than most seem to realize....he is looking to absorb contact. he just so happens to also be our fastest rb. i'm afraid ford will continue to lose out just because of size and blocking ability. ware, hilliard, and blue can handle all situations and all type of sets we can offer.

i can tell you first hand that blue is not a receiver option. he has improved, but he has just never been that good of a receiver. ware is most solid receiving back followed by ford.

don't be surprised to see all this hype coming from blue. he's always been a solid rb and capable of being the best in his class and in the program. those who had seen him play in high school on several occasions knew he was going to find the field.

From reading the preactice reports Blue has been the most impressive and has been taking reps as the #1 tailback... Also, he apparently gained 15 pounds of muscle during the offseason working out with a trainer in New Orleans.
Can't wait to see this guy on gamedays this season

I think you're right on Blue. However, when you throw in contact, then durability and ball security come into play. This is just pure conjecture, but I predict that Hill will factor into this conversation as the thick of the SEC race is heating up.

I dont think Blue (or a lot of guys) would have lasted all season or been as effective, had he/they taken the punishment Ware did under that same "role".

Either way I dont really care how its divided... Use the workhorse(s), feed the hot hand, and call it a day.

Finally, someone gets it. Ford is definitely our best back. In 2010 Ware was the man, but last year he was not nearly as effective. I like the Hilliard/Ford combo. Power and speed that will take us all the way..

I got two words for you guys.....

KENNY frickING HILLARD!!!!!

Between Hillard and Blue we are set for this year. Kenny has a good nose for the end zone and Miles knows it. Look at the SEC championship game against Georgia last year as one example.

Name one good reason why he isn't the back to get the majority of the touches.

Cuz the team needs him more at WR.

....as long as it is an outside running play and everyone is blocked. Otherwise, no.

i believe with the style we run the ball, ware and hilliard will have the opportunity to be physical and just ruin a defense. inside the 10 they will be there, but blue is not a slouch in the power game. he will truck his fair share. the good news is there will be no reason to run the option to the short side.....right?
