does anybody know why he got pulled so early vs GA?

If Hines is gonna beat him out at LG, who do you like at RT, Magee or Deculus?

Right now he’s not. Gave up the early sack and got pulled.

The 5 best OL line of thinking is stupid

Tackles and guards/centers are not the same and aren’t interchangeable. That’s how we got a right guard KJ Malone at left tackle

With Brumfield out, the starters should be what we saw Saturday after Magee was replaced

Actually Hines and deculus at RT have graded out pretty low...

Deculus to me is a beast on the left side, clearly not comfortable on right side

Deculus has earned it, and LG is temporary until Bruiser is back

Hines has surprised the hell out of me for a true freshman. He has played very well.

Another that has gotten better every game is Deculus. The more playing time he gets, the better he gets.

With those two playing, our running games just continues to improve at a time in the schedule when we really need it

I'm going to assume no homo.. and say that yeah. Hines has been one of the lone bright spots in our freshmen class.
Joseph, Chase, Marshall and Baskerville are the only others I see getting significant playing time in their time here. Maybe some of the others will bloom into role players but I don't see many stars in that group. Not sure if the whole "we filled needs" thing is accurate.. O needs to pull in a top 5 class this year to get people like me off of the fence.

Deculus got beat badly multiple times, as in didn’t touch the defender...

LG should remain the same until or unless Hines gets hurt. He's healthy and has been healthy since playing and he's working hard to improve. Continuity is what's most important at this point in the season.

Yes they are, except in extreme cases (Hines is an extreme case. Just look at him. He’s a guard).

Malone’s problem was that he just wasn’t very good at ANY position. Good guy, though.

He gave up a sack on the first series and played like dog shite against Florida. Hines is better.

I think most tackles can play inside, I don’t think most guards and centers can kick outside

nope. Brumfield has waited his turn for 4 years and has earned the hell out of the position. also he was one of our best linemen until he got hurt

This is surely true in the pros. In college, not so much. If you face an elite, NFL ready, pass rusher then no true guard is going to be able to stop him. Neither will a college tackle, though. Reference the spin move Divinity put on that Georgia LT. That wasn't getting stopped. And a Florida player did the same to Saahdiq Charles the week before.

Obviously it's better to have a proto-typical tackle playing tackle.
