Is #7 for the best player on the team or the best player from LA?

If No. 7 is the most talented player from the state of Louisiana, we think No. 18 is the one that brings all of those traits from the player that leads in an extraordinary manner.
Since we’ve had multiple players wear #7 who are not from LA (Stevens and Giles for example), it makes me wonder if he’s trying to shift the meaning slightly. I guess there is a chance he just said the wrong thing too

Kelly changed it to kid from Louisiana

It has previously been given to the best player on the team, CBK changed it this season and made it a Louisiana thing

Sounds like it’s a LA thing. Could be a recruiting tactic

Get ready for every LA recruit to take pictures with #7 Jersey on.

Interesting…Wonder if Patrick Peterson cares being from Florida and have donated 1 million to LSU

This is the actual origin and then Mauck passed it down to Hester because they were friends and it became the tradition it is now.
I think a lot of great players just happened to be number 7 and it became the thing it is now, but I could be wrong on that.

Where was Patrick Peterson from again
Posted on 8/7/22 at 4:37 pm to Gabe Rippen
BK changed it from top playmaker to best player from LA.

Patrick Peterson. The greatest athlete to ever wear purple and gold (pace, Devin White).
