It's ironic that had BK not landed Daniels, Taylor, and developed the rest, and then went something like 7-5 in 2022 and then something like 8-4 in 2023, the perception around him as a coach would be much more positive.
Mason Taylor was an Orgeron recruit.

Didn't he finish year 3 unranked?

What exactly is his major accomplishment? Getting fricking destroyed in the sec title in year 1? The year that we had a chance at the playoffs before a 5-7 A&M team beat the dog shite out of us to end our playoff hopes?

I hope he wins the natty this year but to act like Brian Kelly has been so successful that expectations are too high is fricking laughable.

If Jayden doesn't complete that pass in overtime vs Bama then Kelly would enter this year on a burning hot seat.

But it's a results driven business- let's see if Mr. 100 million can win one opening game.

No doubt, but you have to rerecruit the entire class when a coaching staff is flipped over. Especially an out of state kid like Taylor.

Exactly.

That's my point.

Didn't mason sign early with lsu? Maybe I'm wrong.

I remember he was a kid O identified snd he wasn't being recruited by any other big schools.

So what exactly is his "success" that he's a victim of?

In your honest opinion - what, in a 5 year period, should a 100 million dollar coach at lsu accomplish?

Is an SEC west title an accomplishment at lsu over 5 years?

10 wins?

Whats the barometer because for some reason for Les and Orgeron it was beating Alabama and winning a national title but for Kelly the standard has somehow changed and yall act like he need a decade at lsu to finish top 10. That used to be a given

O was fired and Kelly hired before the early signing period.

Not sure why folks keep bringing up his salary, he isn't even a top 5 paid coach currently, barely in the top 10.

Honestly, that's revisionist history.

Miles had more talent and wasn't beating Bama or winning natties yet that went on for years until he was fired. So that couldn't have been the standard.

Miles' winning percentage his last full 3 seasons was .710, and that STILL wasn't enough to get him fired.

Kelly took over a rebuild and is sitting at .725 over his first three seasons and you're trying to pretend Miles was held to a higher standard?

In 2013/14/15, Miles went 10-3, 8-5, 9-3 (with canceled cupcake game that would have made him 10-3).

In 2022/23/24, Kelly went 10-4, 10-3, 9-4

Practically the same results. Miles started 2016 on the red hot seat, and Kelly is comfortably coasting into 2025 knowing he will be at LSU in 2026 no matter what. And Les had a championship win and appearance. BK has neither.
