In 17 days, Miles will announce he's going to the Dolphins. We'll hire Mike Gundy. Then we'll lose on the last play of the game

I will be watching and pulling for LSU, with enthusiasm. I am particularly interested to see what Jennings--and perhaps a few other younger players--can do in a real game.

I am a bit disappointed in where we ended up, though. If someone had said to us at the beginning of the year that we would play in the Outback Bowl against unranked Iowa, I think that most of us would have seen it as a disappointment.

Iowa is really bad. LSU will roll. Wayyy too much speed for these guys, and they have a bad QB. Not excited about the opponent at all, but am looking forward to watch the new QB. Will be a good game for him to build confidence.

LSU should open as 15 point favs.

I really don't like playing a lower ranked team in a bowl game....it's hard for the team to get up for it. Most of the time in these types of bowl games the the lower ranked team is much more hyped about the possibility of beating a higher ranked team, especially from the SEC, that they usually do. We can hardly afford another bowl loss after losing the last several. If we're excited about the game we'll win decidedly, otherwise I can easily see us losing in a close one again.

You realize the Outback is tied to the East? Auburn in 09 is the only West team to play there since 2000.

Of course I realize it. They've had numerous times to select a West team after the Cotton selected...and even when there were higher ranked, more deserving teams, they decided to go with a team from the East.

They've had 1 West team in 16 years and the West has been much better than the East.

It doesn't matter. My streak is over. I'm not rewarding the bowl with my money after they've screwed the West for years.

Honestly, how well do y'all think we'll travel for this game? I'm just not that excited about it. An LSU-OSU matchup in the Cotton is much better looking than an LSU-Iowa matchup in the Outback.

And who the frick wants to go to Tampa?

That's a ridiculous reason to not go to a bowl game.

I'd much rather go to Florida than some place that might be 30 degrees on Gameday but that's just me. I was going to either place anyway.

How do you know this?

Funny, since the 2008 season, an SEC team has been ranked higher than their opponent 15 times. In those 15 games, the SEC has won 11 of them, so.....

Several? LSU has lost two in a row, three of four, but only four of the last ten.

That's my point...the big underdog usually wins these games...they're a lot more excited about playing a higher ranked opponent.

Iowa had a much better offense and QB in 04 with Drew Tate. The offense they have now is very conservative (like an old Les Miles offense) and Jake Rudock isn't going to scare anyone.
