That chart is more than just "bias".
Ok, now I'm not bored anymore. Later peeps.

Is the article underdog vs favored or specifically bias teams like OSU and Bama?
Posted on 12/26/16 at 11:43 am to Ebridg3
It's about money..ie, TV ratings and financial contracts...Bama and Ohio St. make for cross-country viewership...so the refs are facilitators of that end...jmho

A few years ago, I dug through statistics comparing LSU vs Alabama penalties during the 5 year period that Saban was at LSU (Saban vs Shula), and Saban's first 5 years at Alabama (Miles vs Saban). Long story short, LSU was one of the most penalized, and Alabama one of the least penalized in most, if not all, of those 10 years. I did that to see if the low penalties were due to Saban discipline.
I can't say I can point to a game where LSU definitely would have beat Alabama if not for bad calls, but it's kind of interesting anyway. I think there is some proximity influence, even if subconscious.

I guess I won't argue with actual numbers from the article. But forgive us for being skeptical when we have all seen so many bad calls go against LSU throughout the years, and normally against Auburn and Bama.
Take the worst example- Auburn 2006. This game simply can not be explained away by citing simple incompetence. Too many blatantly bad calls (or no-calls) ALL going against LSU.
Or Bama going almost a complete season with out a single holding call in 2009.

Im the troll but you're the guy who trolled about herman all night on Thanksgiving right? The guy who insulted others because he had inside info. Oh god. You're pathetic.

This is conspiracy or made up, it fricking happened.
Damn. That's crazy. How does that relate to the refs though?

Lsu has also had beneficial calls from the refs. In the 2009 Georgia vs LSU game AJ Green got called for excessive celebration penalty which put us in great field position to score the winning touchdow
This is true. And we expect every team to get some calls their way once in a while. And Bama fans like to rightly point out a missed PI call that helped LSU in 2004.
And it is true that we simply pay more attention to LSU games.
But I've never seen anything so blatant as the PP7 INT fiasco against Bama in 2009. Blatant bc the refs got it wrong even after instant replay.
Anyone remember 2006 Tenn game, where the refs ruled Tenn player did not tough a punt despite replaying clearly showing the ball CHANGED TRAJECTORY in mid-air? Or the Auburn 2006 abortion? Or the phantom hold against Florida 2006 which erased an early TD?

But carry on Tracker. The rest of us are just crazy and biased. It's all in our heads.
It amazes me how many of you argue about something you don't even read. The ENTIRE ARTICLE discussed how the study shows THERE IS BIAS. My whole point was that it's not something that refs go out and consciously do. Wow...just read the damn article and my post.

That being said, I don;t think any reasonable person believes there's some backroom conspiracy here. But...there IS bias
I agree it's what the whole article is about. However, why dont you ask people on here if it's a conspiracy or not. I think you will find most truly believe that. Just read this thread.

For those who don't have a clue about conspiracies...
not only homo sapiens, but also all of our closest relatives have been conspiring for 1000s of years...and btw, it's now been proven and disclosed by retired CIA operatives that the whole bug-a-boo about "conspiracy theories" is a psy-operation perpetrated by the CIA...so I have no problem admitting to "knowing" that conspiracies do in fact exist...the ignorance on this site is amazing...lol

can name about 15 different calls and non calls that went Bama's way against us while all bama fans can claim is one time when Webster pushed their guy doen in the endzone. Its literally their only gripe.
Exactly! From 2004, I think.
Still, nothing I've seen has been as disgraceful as Auburn 2006. That game was fixed. It had to be. I was hoping Les would just pull his team off the field and go home.

Look clown get over your trolling self. You appear to be a weirdo and yes a troll. The pay sites, and top guys on the site were solidly referencing an agreement between Herman and Lsu. ESPN reported it as well. I personally think Herman is a flash in the pan, but would have taken him over jimbo. Honestly you sound like a major douche.

I don't know about all this, but there's no reason to think it's impossible that college football games could be actively fixed, either by players or refs. People bet on college football, right? As long as gambling exists, there'll always be the chance.
I remember it was a rumor going around campus around 1998 or 1999 that Master P was paying off defensive players. No way to know if it was true and I hope it wasn't, but I do know some of those DBs LOOKED like they were allowing catches. I mean, passes where all the DB had to do was swat it away but didn't even try. And suddenly I stopped seeing Master P at the Rec Center.

Herman has and has had a binding agreement ever since miles was fired. Aleeva didn't Frick this up this time. I've known a while, and is why I bashed all the supposed experts on jimbo.
Would you like me to link the rest of that convo where you go on to insult others, like you are now, with now real information?
So far you have only thrown insults at me. I presented you with an article, which you didn't read, then wanted to discuss it. You have not contributed anything to this conversation but riling people up and hating on me. I don't think you know what trolling is.

Fixing games in sports and players taking money to work this angle is as old as sports itself...desperate people do desperate things...and money makes the world go 'round...lol
