writer for the Times-Picayune (his name starts with a V, don't remeber full name) had inside sources about the QB position.

This is still nothing new. Everyone thinks that it is a three man race with Hatch's age giving him the early edge.

And unless one of the three can seperate themselves from the pack in the next 3 weeks, you will see Hatch in on the first series. Even though that qualifies him as the starter, i would use that term loosly, because you will likely see all three play on Aug 30th.

Hatch will start if for no other reason than Les plays players that are older.

hatch looked light years ahead of lee in the spring game. lee looked absolutely lost for a majority of his snaps

This debate is starting to remind me of '06 on the Rant. Who will start, JR or MF? :banghead:

We must have beat that topic to death with a hundred 6 page threads over the summer.

I don't put much faith in what is being said unless it comes from Miles or Crowton and they ain't sayin'.

One may have an edge in their minds but until they play in a few games they're both even and the coaches will go with the one with the hot hand.

All this other stuff about who will start just makes for good conversation.

The difference is that this is a legitimate discussion since no one really knows. Anyone who thought that MF was gonna start over JR was either completely stupid or just racist and wishfully hoping.

Yet Miles said "we will let the competition play out". That was the point. What we 'thought' was irrelevant.

The word according to Crowton

quote:

After talking about all that, he said that Hatch and Lee are basically even right now and have been for a while. There is no clear cut starter, and the way it looks there likely won't be until the Auburn game rolls around. Both QBs have their pluses and minuses, good and bad, and both have the talent and potential to be successful here. Both quarterbacks will play in the first three games, and both will play a lot. Once they throw them both out there and find out which one (if either) can make those decisions previously mentioned the best will be the QB that gets the nod when Auburn rolls around.
