Bran Kelly screwed LSU not the players.

The trade off signing stars is you get ego’s and prima donnas along with it and many times it’s a net loss as we’ve seen so many times.

The # of stars don't mean chit.

Never thought I’d see someone do more with less than Bill “The Purple Wizard” Snyder, but Cignetti has one upped him. My 80-year old in-laws are IU grads and never thought they’d live to see an IU football team like this. I’m absolutely rooting for them the rest of the way.

And you just can't beat Ohio State, you just can't.
You can when OSU takes there 2 best players out of the game to play 3-4 TEs in the RZ so they can not get open vs a LBs on routes and not block anyone in the run game.

The HS ratings thing is inaccurate.

Also half of those starters were players he coached up were with him at James Madison. The other half made the CFP at James Madison. He knows how to Coach and who wants in those positions. Also has to be a great evaluator of talent.
I admit he wasn’t my choice but at least he’ll keep Oh St, Michigan, and Oregon in check.

Its certainly a fun story and great for College Football.
Hope they take the Title home too.

It seems like the rating services usually get the 30 or so consensus 5 stars mostly right, but after that, especially below the top 100, you’re right, they don’t mean shite.

Saban's WR coach and recruiting coordinator for a few years. Was also QB coach at other stops, but never OC. Seems odd that he just woke up one day and become this football coaching genius, for a guy whose biggest prior job was recruiting coordinator.
Some guys just have it, no matter what role they are in. He’s one of them.
Guys like Saban and Kirby tend to find them and have them on their staffs on their various climbs up the ladder. Not all work out, but a very good percentage in comparison with the success rate of the field.

He's got about another year or two until he gets figured out. You can't win consistently like that for more than a few years with all 3 stars, you just can't.
True, but if their fanbase gets a taste, especially while their bread and butter basketball has been off their historic pace, and gets fully behind him, they will start recruiting and portaling more talent. Unlike a lot of programs, they have Big 10 TV money and an alum base that can move them up a tier.
