Well it would help if our two safeties didn't line up 20 yds from the LOS on 3rd and 9 situations. We quite often play deep safeties and non press on the outside. Receivers are able to run free and when they break long and our DE's do not keep the QB inside, allowing them to run outside....games over. We are far two passive on defense and good running QB's can easily create a whole lot of running room with pass patterns. LSU should have two LB's running a spy concept on any qb that likes to run RPO and tackle the qb hard whether he has the ball or not. That crap will come to a halt quickly....but LSU doesn't even attempt this approach. The last 6 qtrs of defense knowing that running qb's are our opposition, has just been ridiculous. If Fla star QB plays, he will also run over LSU, and I expect the Vandy qb to have a Heisman game. Okla doesn't worry me on offense, but we may not care about playing by the time that game happens. I am not upbeat about the forecast of our remaining game. the last 6 qtrs have lost me.

IDK the answer. But when a QB can take a snap and run almost untouched into the EZ, drastic measures are required.

It feels like with that extra blocker we just can’t block it up. I expect florida to run that running back wild cat against us like they did with some success vs Texas. Not sure what the answer is.

Take the fastest most athletic guy on the team doesn’t matter what position or whether offense or defensive player assign him only to the QB!

Like Tommy Cassandra vs Musso back in the day! At the end of the game Musso had negative yards rushing!

Assigning the fastest, most athletic guy to the QB would seem much more doable if Perkins was available.

However, now that D.J. Lagway will start for Florida on Saturday, LSU’s job just got much tougher.

Disciplined play from the edge and LB and make the tackle.

My gut tells me that it somehow got over complicated somewhere leading to the catastrophic defensive shite show we witnessed. The opposition probably noticed in the early going that we were fricking up so they kept going to the well.
