I thought a billionaire from California was going to cover the $53 million buyout. Or was it Graves? Wait, no, it was Shaq, wasn’t it?

Anyhoo…

Graves is the only billionaire we have unless Gayle want to jump in.

Holden Spaht is the California billionaire, originally from BR, that was rumored to be paying for BK’s buyout. He donated millions for this season’s roster

Maybe that was just the $25M amount Woodward had thrown out initially, which would still help tremendously.

They have only secured the $ for 2 years. They have not secured $ for the entire buyout. Which is partly why they are pursuing these options.

It isn't Holden. I have family that know him and he apparently was laughing at all of the "thank you" texts he got when rumor popped up. He does donate a shitload and is a big fan, but specifically, the buyout wasn't him I don't believe.

But there are plenty of massively wealthy donors. John Enquist, Bordelon, Pepper Rutland, Graves, Lipsey, etc. That's just a handful.

Rumor is with Woodwards firing, the money they had promised is having second thoughts. It was promised to Woodward.

What a joke of an institution.

Woody was an incredible fundraiser and the big money people largely really liked him. Any reports otherwise aren't true. Maybe 1 or 2 were sick of him, but the majority liked him and continued to promise him a lot of money.
