I'm really optimistic about the future of LSU football.

So I'll admit this season may be a little tough considering the schedule and the young talent we will be breaking in. BUT, next season and the year after, these young and very talented kids will have tons of BIG GAME experience which is very different than blowout game experience. They are all highly recruited talented kids who will be battle hardened. I know people don't want to hear this because they expect titles every year but personally when this years group becomes juniors and you mix in the 2013 recruiting class we are bringing in, I expect LSU to be absolutely loaded in 2014/15.

I agree with you. All of the young talent coming in will be exciting to watch - especially on the defense.

Not necessarily with the playoff system right? Or are the championship sites still rotating the same as now?

We will be strong for the next 3-4 years I feel sure. We won't pull an Auburn and totally collapse. But I have zero faith in our coach to adapt or evolve which will keep us from getting over the hump. Our schedule won't allow us to breeze into any championships.

All of what you said is true. The only problem is that half the SEC plays with highly recruited kids.

LSU dropped three games last year and none were because the other school had an overwhelming advantage in talent. In fact, it could be argued LSU had that advantage in each of those loses.

There aren't any schedules that allow anyone to "breeze" into a national championship so I guess we are on level playing field.

It sure could be. That is a good point.

The key isn't necessarily to have more talent on the field than everyone else, but rather to keep up with an equivelant amount of talent. If you fall behind in the talent then you don't stand much of a chance. Keep up with it and you at least stand a fighting chance at winning games.

Exactly right. Having a top 15 recruiting class is a requirement just to compete in the SEC.
