I like what they did in giving him meaningful snaps... I don't know about starting him just yet, but I wouldn't mind going to a 50/50 rotation now that we know this team isn't capable of winning the SEC West.

Fact: etling after 3-4 years is as good as Brennan after 3 games

Uh...no. More talented? Yes. He's still raw.

At least give him the troy start and see if we can get a spark.

I think they should each get a half. Start Etling in the florida game, but have a quick hook if necessary

My goodness JL does not equal MB

Just stop it. Mond at a&m blows but look how far he’s come with experience.

Believe it or not true freshman qb can play and even improve with experience.

I can’t wait till we have a qb who can actually throw an int or two and still be okay because he’s throwing 3-4 tds as well. That will be so nice.

Starting Brennan could lead to the same problem that J. Lee had.

Throwing a true Frosh to the wolves without having to do so isn't a great idea.

We don't do that thought because it makes too much sense.

Brennan needs to beat Etling out for the job. I think he's in the process of doing that but he hasn't yet and making the switch prior to that has nothing but downside.
It won't be much longer, let it happen.

I want the best quarterback on the field right now and that's Etling. Brennan has a plenty of talent, but Etling has better vision, accuracy, decision making, and is more physical and elusive than people give him credit for. Plus I'm a bit worried for Brennan given his size behind this O-line.

Keep giving Brennan reps when the game is relatively in hand, but I want Etling out there for the important snaps.

Brennan has played more as a True Frosh than almost any other QB I can remember at LSU. The staff is doing it right.

He'll continue to get a few series a game which is about perfect.

I was watching the game in the background and was surprised when I saw Brennan go in. What was the justification for that move other than O saying before he wanted to get him "meaningful snaps"? From what I gathered, Etling had a 3 and out and got pulled?

Brennan should definitely get quite a bit of snaps, but he should not start or get majority of snaps. The whole point of these non-conference games is to practice and get better for the conference season. Let's continue getting better and see what happens in first couple SEC games before we throw in the towel.

I was very impressed with Brennan's presence in the pocket. The ability to stand there, with pressure in your face, and keep your eyes downfield looking for the open target, is something you can't teach. It's instictive. I don't think there is a wrong answer in this debate. The QB position isn't the problem for LSU, it's out of position OL players and The DL depth.

They've made an effort to increasingly get him more snaps. They are handling him the right way.

I am all for playing him if they can figure out a way to protect him.

Benching a senior who is performing better for a freshman is awesome for recruiting...

We need to rotate the two QB's for the game against Troy. Etling gets 2 series, Brennan gets 2 series. Meaningful snaps for Brennan and hopefully we have a more clear picture who the starter should be the next week against the Gators.

Play him, don't play him.

Doesn't really matter. First decent qb recruit LSU has had in a while partnered with the worst coach to ever coach is gonna be pretty mediocre no matter what.
