Yes, it is pedantic, but I’m not taking any advice on coaching hires from people who can’t spell the coach’s name correctly.

Done with BK, yes it’s the first game, but he said give him 3 seasons!
Technically it's only been 2 seasons and 1 game.

Sorry, but y’all that are dumping on Kelly for his remarks either didn’t listen, did listen but are too stupid to comprehend, or are just flat out pussified.

Were there some in-game coaching errors? Sure. Were they the totality of the game? No.

I heard him take personal blame but also hold players accountable.

The two unsportsmanlikes alone, were difference-makers in the game. Full stop. Period. GFY if you don’t think so.

Getting in the red zone 3 different times with only 6 points to show for it against strong competition is just below par - plain and simple.

Add in the lack of total and cohesive ‘killer instinct’ and that’s all she wrote.

The other failures -coaching or otherwise- were just lagniappe.

And yes, USC (QB included) did make plays that LSU didn’t and they did not have unnecessarily suicidal penalties.

Kelly took blame and said he personally needs to do better.

But in this case, certain players’ actions especially, and certain team mentalities generally (I’m talking again to you, killer instinct), have to be owned by the players.

This game was so winnable it’s not even funny but, as has been said since forever, the coaches aren’t on the field playing the game…

Are you saying the offense was trash last year?

Oh they can afford it.

I also don’t really understand everyone’s worries about the financial stuff. Fans aren’t paying salaries
Nobody is worried about the money personally.

They want to know there is enough to field a winner.

Are you on the inside? How do you know they can afford it?

Hey dumb arse, no we can’t. Also the “it’s not your money why do you care” is such a dumb argument. It’s the school’s money and only a handful of schools can even afford a 11 mil coach to begin with. Let alone fire one and pay them 70+ million to not coach.

It doesn’t matter where the money is coming from. A lot of these people are paying a lot of money to see the team play and are rightfully concerned with throwing money down a hole for an inferior product.

He's been outcoached by Lincoln Riley

I agree. The goal is to win the game. But we were probably 2 plays away from winning last night. If we make those plays and win, would you say Kelly out coached Riley?

and Mike Norvell twice.

In ‘22, absolutely. Last year, Florida State was just a better team than us.

He's not the right fit

What does this mean, specifically? I usually just dismiss this as a weak, lazy take typically parroted by and from dumb and lazy people. But I think they’re may be something to it, but not in the way you likely mean it. If you even know the way you actually mean it. I’m not shitting on you or trying to start a fight, I am generally curious if you can articulate what you mean. But maybe more importantly, who WOULD be the right fit. Lots of people thought that was Nappier (not saying you), but I think it’s clear he wouldn’t have been. Can you give me a few coaches that you think would be a good fit and explain why?

and won't win a natty here.

He could, but chances are he won’t. Not because of him, but because it’s fricking hard to win a National Championship. Saban warped people’s brains on how difficult it is. You have to have great players, but they have to be the right players with the right chemistry, you have to have the right leader at QB, and you have to have a little luck. The stars have to align. And over time, if you’re putting great teams together year in and year out, they eventually will.

But BK is in his 60s and simply might not have enough time left for those stars to align. It’s harder now to win an NC than it ever has been. Only 3 active coaches have won at least 1, and 2 are Mack Brown and Dabo Swinney.

But we can come back to that. I legitimately want to know what you mean by “fit.” Because it seems to me, most people can’t articulate past “winning championships = good fit.” “Not winning championships = bad fit.”
