I agree with his comments but given the amount of negative publicity a low score generates, MC would have been well served to take it semi seriously and at least put up a double digit score. Just my opinion.

But it may have been an issue for Minnesota or Tampa Bay or any other team who wanted to trade up to 3-5, who could have drafted him higher and paid him a few million more.

That's a fair point. I think the Vikings were set on Kalil but the wonderlic could be the reason the bucs didn't take him.

But I still don't see his blowing off the test as a character flaw. Maybe it wasn't a good choice financially but it doesn't make him a bad guy.

Regardless if he took the test seriously or not, you just need to listen to him speak and watch him play football to realize he's not a dumb guy.

"I mean, I looked on the test and wasn't nothing on the test that came with football, so I pretty much blew the test off," Claiborne said.

Probably why everyone thinks he is a dumbass.

In the NFL he will receive lessons in proper english and will become well spoken like all NFL players.

Isn't the wonderlic multiple choice with 4 different possible answers? If it is why didn't he just pick C for every single answer and pretty much guarantee himself at least a 10. I love Mo but he is full of shite when he says he didn't try.

The Wonderlic score has been shown to have no correlation to being a good football player

I think that's pretty much true, but deciding to blow off something asked of you by an organization you seek to join isn't the wisest of plays to make whether it ends up hurting your draft stock or not.

I mean technically it doesn't matter and teams SHOULDN'T read into it, but what if they did? Just take the few minutes to take the test seriously. It's not worth risking a few draft spots or all the bad press.

If that study shows that it is better off for DB to have a low wonderlic score, then maybe Claiborne is smarter than he is being given credit for by scoring lower than anyone else.
