I'm confused about the origin of the Orgeron/Canada rift?

As much as everyone yucks it up about Orgeron's accent, gumbo, etc, while he may never win on Jeopardy!, he's no dummy. As much as it had to have stung his pride he HAS to know that he was a "safe" third choice last fall.

Also with Aranda already on board I thought what won Orgeron the job was he would let his coaches coach. With Canada being somewhat of a rising star he had to have been under the impression the offense was his (of course with Orgeron being head coach Canada couldn't have run the wishbone in at halftime of the Florida game--of course Orgeron has authority).

I can't believe the Troy game was the genesis of this. Maybe it wasn't. But what sort of offense did Canada want to run that seemed to upset Orgeron so much? Unless it turns out that Canada was hired over Orgeron's wishes, I can't believe they couldn't have tinkered with stuff in the Spring or even after the State game.

Strange saga.

Below average intelligence HC

Elite OC
Elite DC

Doesn’t this seem a little backwards?

If you worked in a field and was considered an expert in that field, and your company hired someone off the street to be your new boss; how long would you stay at that company?

That's the question. Aranda was already on the job. Canada was NOT at LSU when Orgeron was hired.

Alleva chewing Os arse for not allowing Canada to do his job during the first half of the Troy game.
That bastard probably blamed Canada and then later admitted to it when Alleva had both of them in a room.
He probably said it was Canada that had Brossette in the game and he was leaving it alone. Wait, didn’t he say that he meddled with the offense in the first half?

He was shell shocked after MSU and the torches were lit. Then Troy happened and like any coach does to save his own arse, he fricking blamed the Coordinators. He can’t blame Arranda and he knows that due to a lack of DLINE play.

He is a fricking snake.

Canada was hired over Orgeron's wishes

Pretty obvious. And the meeting after Troy was where it was determined Canada could leave after the season.

Orgeron has 30 years experience. Even if you don’t like him you must admit he knows a fair bit about football.

Are you serious? I'm going to wade through some 57 page thread littered with lame one liners and "analysis" like O sucks to extrapolate 4 solid posts?

Sure.

30 years of experience you say? How many times has he been a head coach? 1

How did that tenure go? Worst in school history

After he was interim at USC, he publicly begged for the job and an interview with many other schools. He wasn’t even sniffed. He was laughed at.

What did he do? He found an AD dumb and lazy enough to give him a job. LSU then employed their PR prowess to pimp the hire as “he’s one of us. He deserves this. Wild boys. Great recruitier. Elite coordinators, etc”

30 years of experience and if he were fired tomorrow wouldn’t get a single HC interview at a sunbelt school.

Canada wanted Brennan to run his offense because Brennan had won the job. Coach O wanted Etling so he began to interfere and meddle with the offense. This meddling began during the week of the Miss. State game. The rift started.

The way I understand it:

1. Canada came here with the impression that he'd have full control of the offense.

2. Orgeron was meddling with the offense early. He dictated play calling duties to Ensminger in the first half of the Troy game.

3. The Troy game happened.

4. Alleva called a "WTF" meeting. Canada informed him what happened. Alleva said to O that this isn't what we agreed upon and to cut this shite out or we are all fired.

5. Canada was given his play calling duties and offense back to him.

6. O has held a grudge since Canada went to the boss and ratted O out.

You may have just made this up. If you did you may be a genius.

MSU game started the rift. It’s been snowballing ever since.
