we are not in Atlanta or a BCS Bowl Game at the end of the year? This will mark the fourth year in a row we are not in Atlanta or a BCS Bowl if we do not make it this year.

Assuming this occurs, what will everyone's sentiment be towards Miles? I know everyone is just smitten with him right now, but I distinctly remember some of his sheer incompetence on display last year.

He's parted ways with Crowton. What happens to Miles if we fail to make Atlanta and a BCS Bowl Game for the fourth straight year?

What if we go to Atlanta but not a BCS bowl? What if we go to a BCS Bowl but not Atlanta. What if we go to neither? What if we go to the NC but not Atlanta. What if we go to Atlanta lose, go to a BCS Bowl and lose also. What if we go 0-12 or 12-0. What if Jefferson wins the Heisman. What if we can't decide on a QB again?

These are the questions that man must ponder.

As long as we finish in the top-10 I don't care what bowl game we go to. Futures bright.

I think it will not be a big deal unless we have two early season losses and Miles replaces JJ with Mettenberger and he does really, really well. Then, folks will say that our two losses were due to Miles' stubborn insistence on playing a QB who is just not SEC-caliber instead of playing the best player. A potential championship team will be wasted due to the inability to make this move sooner.

I'm becoming more and more hopeful that this is not the case; that JJ is indeed improved and ready to take the step to being a competent SEC QB. But the above scenario is my fear, and if it plays out that way, I think some of the criticism of Miles will be warranted.

But, let's not worry about the pessimistic approach. It's early July, we have what we believe to be a very talented football team and nothing to really concern ourselves with at this stage. It's a time for optimism. Two months to go!

It will be because of our QB play.

i think the vitriol witnessed last year was because of HOW we played more so than the record (in '09). our OL couldn't block ULLA, we couldn't make a 3rd and one with two trys. and we lost to bama, florida and anyone good. therefore, it looked like the entire program was headed in the crapper. then add in that coach miles doesn't explain diddly squat to the fans and came across in interiews that he didn't even notice what was going on. so part of the fan reaction was due to his "covering" for his team but part of it was on him; we deserved to be leveled with (at least sort of). he could have owed up and said "we're young and not very good yet, blah, blah....". instead, he appeared to be saying that the fans were blind and we had a great OL, etc. basically, if we don't make atlanta this year, our reaction will be based on why? is it we just don't get the breaks or we suck at football and corch starts denying it?

worst case we lose 2 ball games and compete for the West. If we play well, are there in the race until the end. . . with this schedule and competition, and things looking well for next year - i don't see a panic.

this scenario is actually what I see this year. of course we know that if the offense is top 35 and the defense is great as usual and special teams are special -we could 1 or 0 loss allthe way to BCS.

When did LSU become so small time program that prides itself on beating one team or coach? That's fricking weak.
