Also, bringing up the 2011 football team doesn't make any sense to me. They were not champions.

SEC Champs, undefeated, had a hell of a schedule, went on the road to beat Alabama, without a shadow of a doubt was the number one team in the country before the championship.

You can go ahead and accept mediocrity then. That's what PM delivers.

I completely agree that the '11 team was great and as much as I didn't like Miles, I knew he didn't deserve to be fired until after the '15 season. But, I keep hearing people say that Mainieri hasn't won a championship since '09. So, I don't see the relevance of bringing up a team that didn't win a championship in this discussion.

You weren't cheering on CPM for his awesome job last year but you yell at him this year?

No, you have it wrong. I'm no CPM hater and don't think he should be fired. I just don't get your argument. He had a great year, last year with a young team. Probably his best coaching job of his career, but you have to recognize he is underperforming with the team he has. This team was light years ahead of where we are this year and that's ALL coaching!

Because the response was that baseball has been better than football the last five years. Simply pointing out that football was in a title game in 2012, baseball in 2009.

The reason we are bringing this up is.... How can you be ok with firing Miles, but not Manieri. Miles has played for a championship more recently.

And I'm not even saying fire him, but to not be on the hot seat?

Possible byproduct of being scared of the unknown. You had a near similar sentiment with Miles. It was always "who are you gonna get" line with him.

Baseball has been better than football the past five years. That's just a fact. The football team was in a title game for the '11 season which was more than five years ago. So, again, I'm not sure I understand why a season that happened more than five years ago was used in a rebuttal to my comment comparing the two programs for the past five years.

Miles' football program over the last 5 years of his tenure was WELL behind what the baseball team has done in that period.
