At the arky game 2 years ago, there was this hog fan screaming and hollering the 1st 2 quarters

He left in the 3rd quarter

Had the same experience (maybe the same guy) sitting right behind us (literally the row back). We had pleasant conversation before the game, his mom was there with him as well (she was very nice to chat with, lives in Louisiana). When the Hogs had a big play (int, score, etc.), he would shout out "what's goin on" with an Arkansas drawl. The the complexion of the game turned and the Tigers started spanking them, the whole area of the south end zone around him would yell "what's goin on" back at him. He left 3rd Q and left his mom there all alone.

with all due respects your father is wrong.

But he swears up and down he had beer and food thrown at him each time he visited.

he's lying.

i've been to a lot of venues and LSU's Tiger Stadium is no different than any of the large ones. yes, you could run into some douche bag fans. some of the young males can't hold their alcohol and they can be abrasive but overall, you should have a great time if you are a good visitor and you stay away from the student section.

maybe your dad is an a-hole and he was the victim of retribution. if one goes to the game saying cajuns suck, louisiana is a bunch of dumbasses, etc, etc. yes they probably will not enjoy themselves.

Howdy,

I don't doubt he had stuff thrown at him. During the games anything can happen. This year vs South Carolina even I was hit with shite. Seriously though, it's the same everywhere. (Assholes that is.) I've never seen anything bad during tailgating though. Just be prepared to be tiger baited every 5 seconds and enjoy Death Valley.

Tell your Dad to make the trip to West Virgina and compare his notes given to you about LSU!

I was in College Station for the game last year and got repeatedly lectured about how LSU has no tradition and no class. We may not have the nicest fans in college football (which is about the stupidest thing to be proud of that I can imagine), but we are unparalleled in our football atmosphere. You may get harassed, but at least you'll get to experience to loudest stadium in college football.

Unless he acted like a complete idiot I call bullshite. If you act right and can take a little jabbing (mostly just tiger baiting) you will be invited to tailgates and given food and beer.

Dude,

This is the wrong place to get a straight answer to that question. That said, drunks are drunks, regardless of the colors they're wearing. Don't show fear, they'll smell it. Give as good as you get. Stay on the main streets with lots of fans. Carry your own beer and smile a lot.

Good food and good people. The trash and dickheads are the small minority. If your dad got hit with a drink, well that just sucks, it happens everywhere not just at lsu. In the SECOND most stadiums are hostile.

student sections will be student sections...in almost all stadiums.
I haven ever had a problem..

have I heard some foul language, yes,..so have I in almost all of the other stadiums.
can there be a couple of idiots in 99,000 people ?? of course.

Agree 100%, it's entirely grade school ridiculous, they act like children with hurt feelings and make excuses "you didn't win, we beat ourselves", if we lose this next one I am gonna puke, I am sick to my stomach right now just thinking about that possibility

His choice. Take advantage. Don't talk him out of it.

If "thrown at him" he means he was offered tailgating food, he's right. That's a harsh way to put it, though.

CS in 2012, how would you compare the visitor treatment to BR?

Was there the last time LSU played there in the 90's. Place sucked. The band is badass, but the stadium was terrible.

Every major SEC power is the same in regards to the away game experience. Whether its in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, or Gainesville you will experience some hostility, but it's USUALLY all in good fun.

However I advise you not to talk shite after an LSU game if your team wins. That's when bad stuff can happen.

I was told we have no tradition during the midnight yell. We sure do have a history in beating aTm. He was mad.

Come to tiger stadium & have the time of your life. Cajuns are happy people that like to have good time. As long as u don't drink Joe Louis whiskey & start shite u will be fine. Other wise u will get your arse kicked! I think that is what your dad is trying to tell u.

[quote]For those who visited CS in 2012,how would you compare bla bla,

Corn Dogs were great! It sucked as LSU fans were in the highest nosebleed seats and could not really even sit in them as they are too small so as to get higher seating count Is my guess? We went down and stood in the concourse the whole game, way better. Couldn't even see the band as it was in the SE corner as far away from the Tiger fans as they could get them . Gar hole of a stadium except good corn dogs
