The Wadeophiles do not accept your premise. Without any evidence, they believe that this huckster was the greatest basketball coach on this earth.
Nice straw man, idiot
Also don’t you’re have the worst documented opinion of LSU basketball coaches on this entire board?
ETA: and to answer OP, fans aren’t melting. It’s worse, they are back to not giving a shite

The rational thing would be to….Calm down, Let it play out.
You're not but the numbers are dwindling.

It's possible especially with a proper roster. He had to just throw together something to put on the court this year. Give him 3 years.

Yet again, another person who doesn't follow college basketball and clearly knows absolutely nothing about the current landscape of the sport chiming in with a completely meritless position.
He didn't just "throw something together". He put together a roster that anyone and everyone who follows college basketball thought would at least be competitive in the middle of the SEC. He was given credit for his roster after it was completed. Including by those who are the most frustrated with the results this season. His roster was seen as his biggest POSITIVE going into the season. It is complete revisionist history for those now coming in and saying "Oh, this roster is horrible. Let's not judge him too harshly". But even then, he wasn't the only new HC in college basketball who had to put together almost an entirely new roster ahead of this season. Hell, he wasn't even the only HC in the SEC who had to do so (see Missouri). Yet, others have had varying degrees of success. At minimum, better than being one of the 10 worst major conference teams in all of college basketball this season.

What exactly do you expect to be different in 3 years? He's bombed with this roster and very likely could have a worst roster next season. He's losing his only reliable scorer leaving (KJ Williams) and bringing in a pretty unremarkable HS signing class (2 players outside the top 100 prospects). Outside of the 3 true freshmen, he didn't have a "young" roster at all. So to expect many of these guys to return and suddenly become significantly better may be a stretch. And that is if he can keep all or any of the true freshmen from leaving...which is commonplace in this era of college basketball.
Coming into the job McMahon could sell his tremendous year at MSU to recruits. He could sell a desire to play an "exciting brand" of basketball. He could sell a blank canvas for opportunities to play.
Going into this offseason he now has to "defend his record". The success at MSU no longer matters when opposing coaches can point to this year's debacle at LSU. His team's style of play was anything but "exciting". They played at one of the slowest tempos in the SEC (bottom 1/3rd of the nation) and are the lowest scoring team in SEC play. There may be playing time to offer, but to what end? Another struggle once a very weak OOC schedule ends?
I want McMahon to succeed. I really do! But if I'm being objective the only what that happens is if he completely overhauls his roster to fit whatever it is he wants to do in his approach OR he completely overhauls his approach. The latter would seemingly be easier. But that opportunity seems like it has been there for a while and not much has changed in the approach since Texas A&M apparently gave the rest of the SEC the blueprint for completely shutting down LSU's offense and he really hasn't changed.

As one of the cute little Sunshine Pumping Pump Lumps, you forgot the required "Relax" and "We'll be Fine" BS in your post.
This from the a-hole who not long ago was still saying Brad Davis should be run out of town because he supposedly can’t coach or develop an offensive line. You can keep your shite advice.

But now is not the time to panic. Only little girls would panic in year 1.
Well, this fanbase is full of them and this site is a black hole that sucks in the worst of them.
