If you're a top-50 offense, chances are you will have success against Baker.

Directing my frustration in the most non-productive way possible by doing a three-year deep dive into our defense

Here are the offensive ranks from 2024-present of our opponents strictly based on end of the year (current for 2026) PPG and how we played.

Out of the 13 games we've played against top 50 offenses, Baker's had two games I've been impressed with (24 Ole Miss and 25 Bama).

He isn't the worst DC we've ever had, but this certainly ain't worth the $3M+ we are paying him annually for these kind of performances.

You can give him a pass in 2024 coming off the worst defense in school history. I also don't want to hear about the offense in 2025 as Les's teams had atrocious offenses and the defenses were still great.

Whit Weeks and Dashawn Spears are also solid players, but Baker fans act like these guys HOF players we are missing.

I'm not saying they can't make an impact, but we constantly give Baker credit for beating up on bad offenses, and he just isn't a top-tier DC worthy of being paid like one.

2024
3rd-Ole Miss-38 ppg. To his credit, I thought Baker had an excellent gameplan and I think this is his best coaching job.

22nd-Alabama 33 ppg. Milroe running wild

44th-Arkansas-30.9 ppg. We held them to 10 points on the road. They ended up finishing 7-6 and unranked. Nothing crazy.

48th-South Carolina-30 ppg. Defense definitely struggled. If Sellers doesn't get injured, they probably win that game.

50th-A&M-30 ppg. Reed running wild. Admitted they didn't even prepare for him.

(USC, Florida, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and UCLA all ranked 51st, 65th, 73rd, 97th and 118th, respectively).

2025
8th-Vanderbilt-38.5 ppg. Defense got 3 stops all game.

10th-Ole Miss-36.9 ppg. Got early stops but couldn't get it done when they needed it. Especially on third down.

19th-A&M-33.8 ppg. Reed still running wild.

23rd-Arkansas-32.9 ppg. Solid performance but Arkansas finished dead last in conference and 2-10 on the year.

50th-Alabama-29.5 ppg. This was actually a great game by the defense.

(Louisiana Tech, Clemson, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Florida finished 72nd, 73rd, 79th, 104th and 111th, respectively).

2026
22nd-Ole Miss-38.8 ppg. First half abomination and couldn't get a stop when it mattered in the 4th.

38th-Louisiana Tech-35.2. Played well against them, but it's Tech.

44th-Kentucky-34.7 ppg. We let Joe Sloan shove it up our arse and allowed them to drive the length of the field for a game-tying FG.

(A&M and Clemson are ranked 81st and 118th, respectively in the country).
