If you were fired, would you offer your ex-employer a discount on your severance?

I thought of this logic for a moment. Then I thought of how many fewer care that my employer would be at a detriment (unlike LSU football). Also, I haven't broadcasted any bold-faced lies to the company ultimately leading to my firing either.

And it is highly unlikely you would ever have a buy out.

Yes, if it meant I could at least be affordable for other long term opportunities.

If you had stole as much as Les had you have to feel bad for so you cut them some slack. Les stole untold Millions from LSU. frick him and his horrific offenses he produced over here.

wouldn’t the buyout actually make him MORE affordable?

i mean the $ is guaranteed, less anything he makes from future employers.
so you could pay him $750k and LSU would foot the other $500k to get him to around the $1.2 he’s getting now.

without the buyout, new school would have to pay entire $1.2 for his money to stay the same.

Some of you must be really new to the business world.

If had that kind of money coming to me and someone came along who really wanted me to go work for them, I’d make them pay me the money I’d be losing as a sign-on bonus.

duh.

...or it could be negotiated any number of ways to compensate for the loss. Miles probably has this already sown up.

Fine by me. I won't need it regardless.

These are not mutually exclusive. He almost certainly negotiated this buyout in his best interest....not LSU's, but he does love LSU.

Coach Miles is about to take the Kansas job. This is why he settled with LSU.
