He defeated five sitting NC coaches in a single season last year:
1) Spurrier (UF '96)
2) Meyer (UF '06)
3) Saban (LSU '03)
4) Fulmer (Tenn '98)
5) Tressel (OSU '01?)

Not sure if that had ever been done before. Tubberville and Beamer could be added as honorable mentions.

Note: Meyer has a chance to do the same this year.

all those teams sucked last year and LSU was playing with something like 20 potential first rounders...plus he got lucky in all those games because some of the calls he made, that ranters wouldn't have made, worked. finally, none of those wins really count because he didn't play Charles Scott in the second half of the Kentucky game...

The rant reminds me of all those people who called the Texans idiots for taking Mario over Vince and Reggie. Look who's laughing now.

and we returned a ton on both lines, at WR, and at RB

This means shite when you have an absolutely terrible quarterback. Seriously, D-Byrd stopped caring sometime in September, and our defense gave up when they saw that every time they stopped somebody, our QB was bound and determined to give them the ball back. Our offense could not sustain drives because of 2 things -- the QB's inability to get the ball to our WR's OR the WR's inability to catch easy passes. So, anyone who says that Flynn, Hester and Doucet were not big losses are just kidding themselves. Those three guys were the way LSU got 1st downs last year.

Name the guys on this year's team that you could count on to get you the first down yardage when you needed it. Come on...do it. Fact is, they didn't exist. And you can all just search back into the posts last year around RP's Varsity incident and see what people thought would happen when RP got kicked off the team midseason -- everyone acknowledged that the cupboard was bare behind RP.

At any rate, Les is not a great coach, but he could become one. He has had 4 years of top-tier talent and has 2 division titles, 1 conference title and a national title to his credit. He has one more year to equal what Nick Saban did at LSU -- win another conference championship. So, until then, he can have a shite year. Our last coach had 1. The coach before that had 2, and the coach before that had 4. So, he has a long way to go before he is in trouble.

this year we DID NOT have supieror talent at all.

Whose fault is that? This is Miles fourth year. He is still making $3.75 mil. It must be poor talent evaluation.

oh yeah

rebuilt LSU and he's rebuilding bama faster than expected

Nope, sorry. He won with Dinardo's players. He is winning with Shula's at bama.

I guess everyone is a potential first rounder.
