Pitt beating WV last year??

OU going over Texas to the Big 12 Championship (which pretty much meant they were going to the national championship) way WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY bigger then Pitt beating West Virginia.

Yeah but this is one season.....one, not four. Saban never...ever....beat Auburn, Florida, and Alabama in the same season.

I just don't think this should be used as a metric to determine coaching greatness.

Why not? Historically speaking....its a big deal. Granted...we didn't always play all three every year. You can compare this achievement to all LSU coaches since...what? 1993? So you are basically comparing Saban and Miles in terms of greatness....one has accomplished this feat, and the other didn't.

You call 3 two loss seasons, an SEC championship, and a NC underachieving??? And if you say we had superior talent you deserved to be punched in the throat.

Fans like you are the reason auburn is where there at. Noone wants to coach a team where, no matter what you do, you cant win.

I have never heard a sports pundit or ex coach put great coach in the same sentence with Les Miles.
Even at the height of the negative press after Saban left the Dolphins, I don't remember anyone except Ranters doubt Saban's coaching ability.
Pete Jenkins the ex LSU defensive coordinator said that he had never met a another coach that could communicate, organize, and coach technique as well as Saban. Pete has been around the coaching profession for several years so thats a pretty strong endorsement.

It's one of the biggest rivalries in the nation. Sure people were surprised that Pitt beat WV, but it wasn't a weeks worth of discussion. OU going over Texas to the Big 12 Title game was talked about non-stop for 3 weeks.

auburn's AD hated the coach and AU isn't the potential program that LSU is

if miles fricks up next year i can't wait to choose between tubby or jack del rio for our next head coach

I mean...did we have more talent than Florida in 2006? Did we have more than Texas or USC in 2005?

I'm not sure about that.
