With the way he used to hit, I'd be afraid LL would end up getting ejected for targeting before halftime with today's rules.

The most legitimate arguments I see are (in no order):

Glenn Dorsey
Alan Faneca
Andrew Whitworth
Arden Key
Josh Reed (maybe sub obj but i go with reed)
Patrick Peterson
Rohan Davey
Maybe Kevin Faulk

I would have to add Faneca or another great for the OL. Faneca was a beast and could really open things up for our offense giving the qb time and rb lanes.

Prime Josh Reed? No question. Dude is always open on 3rd down and we have a QB that can get him the ball

Gotta have an O-line that can block to be able to make those throws

ok I'll play. I'd take Herb Tyler at QB. All of you saying Jamarcus or Tommy Hodson are picking a pocket passer against a very good front 7. Against a saban defense it needs to be 11 v 11 not 11 v 10 - which it would be if the qb doesn't have to be accounted for. Tyler running the option and passing just enough beat the gators in Tiger Stadium.

For as great a player Tyrann Mathieu was I don't recall him being a real game changer against Bama like he was versus nearly every other team (although we sure missed him in 2012 on the Bama screen pass that beat us).

I'd take either Glenn Dorsey or Jamarcus Russell.

don't get people who say Jamarcus over Rohan. Rohan was damn near more elite one season. Threw for 500 yards. 7 plus 300 yard games. Like 4 more than Jamarcus or so.

I love Rohan Davey but I think I'd give Jamarcus the nod against this Bama team. No one had more freakish athletic ability than Jamarcus. He'd get nailed by opposing DLs and still get passes off. Davey had great games but I remember him getting neutralized and then injured in the 2001 SEC championship game vs. TN. That might be clouding my judgment but that's why I said Jamarcus.

I sort of agree but JaMarcus' physical abilities(especially arm strength) are what you want against the Alabamas out there.

I think too many of us let the fact that he bombed out in the NFL color his time at LSU.

There were certain stretches in 2006 where he was damn near indefensible.

This. Give me late 2006 Jamarcus Russell all day. Also wouldn’t mind prime Rohan

I understand all the Msthieu answers. Yes, he was great, one of my favorite players ever, but he didnt make a huge difference the times he did play against Bama. The answer will always be difference makers on both sides of the line against Bama. You need quality depth in the trenches. We have great defensive backs right now as it is. With that being said, Glenn Dorsey/Lavalais/Spears etc or Faneca/Whitworth would make the biggest difference because it would be quality difference making depth at a position that matters most and the game is actually won.

Thomas Dunson. He would be a good replacement for White.

There needs to be more QBs on that list. Rohan, Jamarcus, Hodson, etc.
