Name me the last team to win the NC that followed it up with a 5 loss year and then a 4 loss year? Name me the team that went 2 years with out contending in their conference at least. LSU and maybe Texas, that's it.

Eh people on both sides just need to realize Les is coach next season. If he goes 8-5, 9-4 again then the seat will get warm but I doubt LSU will fire him until after 2011 assuming he has 2 mediocre (by Les Miles early standards) seasons.
I fear we are becoming Georgia, in that we have talent, but we are undisciplined and we are good enough to win 9-11 games but choke in big ones. Never really contend for national title but still be one of Top 10 teams in country.

Worked at Ohio State where they were coming off an 8 win season and 2 seasons removed from 11-1 and #2 in Nation.

Not sure I agree with the 2011 stuff. Next year will be a big year for LSU and Miles. The cupcakes get replaced with UNC and WVU. No more excuses or easy roads.

Next year is big, I think LSU goes 8-4 and that buys Les another season even though the fans will want him gone. He would have to make multiple Ole Miss type mistakes for administration to fire him for 8-4 as next years excuse will be youth.

But what about the season before?
If you are going to argue something you go by multiple seasons not just one. LSU in 2004 lost 3 games, to all teams that were ranked high. All 3 finished in the Top 10 of in the nation.
