You said O will have a better career than Les because Les wasn't a great coach. How else am I supposed interpret that?

You should interpret it as most others do...les was not a great coach. The amount of talent he had at his disposal was without a doubt wasted. NFL rosters prove this to be fact. I don’t believe O will squander the talent. What has Miles won since 2011...all his sunbelt games yeh we should have kept a coach that outside of his first 3 years won one sec title in 8 years.

That depends if SAID coach built it or not... Miles was given A goldmine of talenet.. He did build crap.... He did well and built on what he was given...............

Saban had shite for talent when he took over Bama and was in the SECCG in his second year.....

Most people with a brain will say getting to the top is harder than staying on top. Once on top recruiting is easier...why do you have such a hard time with logic?

Use facts again to show me how often teams at the top are out recruited by teams that aren’t...I will wait

And yet there are numerous examples of one coach following a highly successful one and the program falls apart.

So even if all Miles did was "maintain," even that is difficult to do.

Yes there are...and no examples where Les built a program to elite status

And I never said maintaining a program wasn’t difficult I said building one is harder than maintaining one

Les deserved to be fired after the 2015 season, so you can save that strawman argument. He of course squandered a lot of talent. Now do you care to explain what about O's career indicates him to be a better head coach than Les was? Or are you just going to continue to talk about Les and deflect?

Now hold on. It’s tirning into a Miles comparison again. Stick with your initial assertion and support it.

I think almost any coach could win with the talent LSU has had...so far my opinion has been proven to be correct. Hell according to you and a few others O is the worst coach in the history of the SEC yet he has gone 10-4 in the SEC while at LSU and Miles was 15-11 in his last 3+ years...comparing apples to apples it appears O is holding his own

Yeah you still haven't said a damn thing about what O has done to indicate he's a better coach than Les. Of course l hope he is but I'm just not understanding what you're basing it on. Ive never said he's the worst coach in SEC history but his stint at Ole Miss was arguably the worst in their school's history. He's had a couple pretty good interim stints and this year was decent after a horrid start. Still just not sure what you see. Here's hoping you're right

frick how many explanations do you need

I did not have any respect for CLM coaching ability. I argued for years I thought almost any coach could win with the talent LSU has. What better way to prove I was correct that Miles was average at best than to have a guy with O’s previous record come in and be successful. Doesn’t mean he was who I wanted to follow Miles. In the little over a year he has been in charge of the program I’ve seen nothing that leads me to believe he can’t and won’t be more successful than Miles. Better in game coach, better with adjustments, not to stubborn to make changes, players show improvement throughout the season and he seems willing to do whatever it takes to get the most out of the tools he is given to succeed at LSU.

Ok but you argued O is a better coach and would be more successful. You still haven't offered anything to support that. If it's a hunch or blind faith just say so. Les was fired for hovering around 9-3 or so in his last few years. We are sitting at 9-3 right now. And with - gasp - players that Les recruited and much of his remaining staff. I bet you discredit Miles' early success because many of his players were recruited by Saban

It’s not blind faith when I stated what I’ve seen from O that makes me more confident that he is a better coach than Miles. Unlike some of you I’m judging him by his actions at LSU not his w/l record at a historically bad cfb program duringi the modern era.
