TO actually answer the OP, to be honest we do not know how would Jefferson would have reacted from coming in Auburn and playing out season.

We can guess/hope/pray he would have played like he did against Washington. Its fun to guess, assume, but no one on here can actually give an honest answer.

The Jefferson who we saw Saturday is light years ahead of Jefferson from Ole Miss/Arkansas game.

I think this year's JJ is infinitely better than last year's JJ, so, we probably beat Arky, and either Bama or Ga, maybe both. We definitely win all the games we won, and a few more.

SSSTTTRRREEETTTCCHHH much?

Washington was 0-12, and we struggled. Lets get into the meat of our schedule B4 so we can make valid comparisons. I have to agree this is getting pathetic.

I wonder if this yrs JL is better than last yrs JL?

Fact is your question is stupid.
What if RP wasnt a thug?
What if AH didnt get hurt and he and lee continued to split time all year?
What if JJ took over Hatches role when he went down?

I hope JL gets another chance. and kicks arse for no other reason than to make half the people that post here feel like a dumbass and enjoy a big bowl of steamed crow.

I was talking about if we had this year's JJ from the start last year...prolly alot closer to RP in talent without all of the crap.

4-0

not with our defense. I have said this a hundred times on here. we gave-up 28 ppg in the sec last year. We put 38 up on Ga and lost. Even take away the 2 JL picks. I gotta believe we can still hold ANY opponent under 28 every game with our athletes.

instead of last year's JL, what do ya'll think our record would have been last year?

Hard to say. Clearly, JJ doesn't appear to have been likely to get us into the trouble JL did. But, JJ hasn't demonstrated that he has the passing skill come from behind and with what we were doing defensively last year.......well.....you get the point.

Gotta believe we win a game or two with JJ that we didn't win. But, the opposite could be said to.

Wouldn't a simple thing like not having a bad QB changed our end result last year, and led to a lot better perception of LSU this year? And wouldn't that be a whole lot better than ANYONE thinking Ole Miss is a better team?

see this where I differ from most of you.

I dont think JL is a bad qb.
I think JL was a young qb thrown into a BAD situation and made some BAD decsions.

Once again... one of the things I look frwd to seeing this football seasonl is the opp for JL to redeem himself and you tards go into meltdown.

good talent, but not in RP class. He would have been offered by way more teams out of high school. IF you may recall RP originally committed to Texas, but decommitted when he found out about McCoy.

Jeff if you have this years Jefferson it might be difference in 1 game. Again he had a perfect game (to me) against Washington. I want to see how he fares against SEC defenses first, Saturday against a Vandy team that was #34 in total defense will be his first test.

bump this after that game and I will give you a more in depth thought.

This isn't about who should've played instead of JL last year...I think he was the right choice at the time...I just wish he wouldn't have had the type year he unfortunately had. If any of those scenarios you put forth had come true, JUST LIKE THE ONE I POSTED, the perception of LSU this year would be different.

thats true, however if you thought for a second there wasnt going to be growing pains/problems after RP was booted last season... you're just not being honest.
Our defense was biggest letdown of 08.. not JL.

Lee did not help the situation either, yes the defense, special teams were a concern but so was Lee. Had he put up numbers similar to what he did against Mississippi State everything would have been fine for him. LSU fans would have forgiven as he would have beaten UGA and maybe Bama.

Which everyone just acts as if it never happened. JLee threw picks because he was forced to throw. Time after time. He was forced to throw because our defense 1) couldnt stop anyone 2) couldnt get turnovers

If the D played for JLee like they did against GTech, JLee would have very few picks, would be a God, and Scott would have 1500+ yds rushing, and would also be a God. When JJ is playing from behind continually, bump this thread then

What did I expect?

JPW numbers, about 10 Touchdowns/10 INT and about 2000 yards.

What hurt him most his worst games were Florida/Bama/UGA and those were the most important ones on the year.

you could change important to ... biggest, stressful, pressure-packed, intense

JL fricked up in all those games, but he was also clutch in key moments of those as well.

Once again. YOUTH.... shite happens.

Yet it does not happen to every freshmen, look at Erik Ainge, Jay Cutler, David Greene and you will see All-SEC caliber players as freshmen.

To use the excuse youth, is just an excuse. Every once in awhile the player should be held accountable for their screw ups.
