Not confident in it ! At least Neal finally hit the ball I guess that’s something to look forward in but I’m not
Confident until they show some kinda consistency besides loosing I’m not confident they did score over the halfway point on this game but went cold for 3 innings maybe it was 2 you have to find away to put teams away late they have not showed that all year and didn’t really tonight !

Agree! Facing Mizura and Auburn pitching will give us a better look at whether or not these guys can hit well enough to get to a point where we have a legit shot at didly squat or not.

How many wins would we most likely need in the SEC Tournament?

Hell yall may not even make the SEC tournament at this rate. If the season ended today, LSU would be left out of the NCAA tournament. If you don’t win the series against Mizzou, im not sure you will even qualify for SEC tournament. This mizzou series for yall, is the biggest series of the season.

And Tennessee will once again shite the bed in the postseason with a top 5 team. You will still have zero championships and probably throw mustard bottles at whoever eliminates your team. Eventually Vitello will realize that he can’t win there and move on to a better job. Your program will then return to the bottom tier of the SEC like it’s been for pretty much ever.

Are you new to baseball? You should know that the college World Series is the hardest title to win in sports. Also Vitello is on pace if not ahead of coaches like Paul Marinara.

PM didn’t get to Omaha for his 1st time till after being a HC for 14 years. Even after taking over a loaded team after Skip left, it still took him 4 years to get to Omaha with LSU for the 1st time.

Vitello has only been a HC for 6 years and went to Omaha in year 3. Now he’s been to Omaha 2 of the last 3 years, which is more than anyone else in the SEC. Also it took Bianco 21 years to win his 1st natty, and Dave Van Horn still hasn’t won it after being with Arkansas for 25 years. UT is just fine.

Well the Air Force Academy and Notre Dame aren't exactly perennial powerhouses but alright man. Also, Paul took over for Smoke Laval, not Skip. He also made it to the CWS in 2008 which was only his second season as head coach at LSU. Google can be your friend.

Every year during the SEC tournament, they post the stats for SEC teams to make the tournament since the field expanded to 64 (since 1999). I took a snapshot of the stat during the 2022 tournament. Here were the numbers:

16 wins or more - 100%
15 wins - 73%
14 wins - 63%
13 wins - 39%
12 wins - 18% (only 3 of 17 teams have made it)
11 wins or lower - none

When you factor in the numbers for 2022 and 2023, I'm sure those percentages are rising for 13, 14 and 15 wins because the league seems to get tougher every year.

Vitello had the best team in a decade in 2022, and shite the bed against Notre Dame in the Supers.

His record in Omaha is 1-4.

I’m not new to baseball. I’ve been involved in it my whole life. I’ve also watched every LSU team since 1989.
That’s the year that A&M choked their best chance to win a title away. They were 58-5 and got beat twice by LSU to Miss Omaha.

PS: Paul didn’t take over a loaded team. He took over for Smoke Laval, who left the program in shambles after a handful of seasons. Paul went to Omaha in year 2 and won it all in year 3.
