Landry is pro-whatever gets him votes. Has nothing to do with LSU.

quote:You understand if he didn't act then Brian Kelly is still the coach right? Woodward was not going to fire him. No chance.
And his interference in LSU sports last year is still a stain on LSU, IMO.

quote:Alright so just one question - did Jeff Landrys desire to help LSU sports for votes actually helped LSU sports?
He would like to be regarded as a champion for Tiger sports and cover himself in glory that will lead to popularity and votes.
You seem to have swallowed that hook along with the line and sinker.
Not me.
What's better Brian Kelly or Lane Kiffin for LSU?

Landry is like a front-seat passenger who grabs the steering wheel to get attention.
Sometimes it might work; most of the time it won't.
All in all, I don't want my passengers grabbing the steering wheel.
He should let the driver do his damn job.

Are you talking about Woodward though?

When Landry says or does things concerning LSU, he doesn't think about whether it's best for LSU. He thinks about whether it's best for Landry.
I guarantee he'd throw LSU under the bus for a Trump endorsement, Trump administration post, or a 5% voting bump.
That's why we get to hear him make ignorant comments about teams being present for the national anthem. That's why we get to view Tigers driven from Florida in Tiger stadium. He doesn't care about LSU; he just wants to make headlines.
I don't give a rat's arse about what's best for Landry. I care about what's best for LSU. So, I'd prefer that the people who are closer to LSU, whose careers are more tightly aligned with LSU, who will rise and fall as LSU rises and falls, will make LSU decisions without input from Landry.

Whatever he did, he didn't do it out of some love for LSU or being "pro-LSU".

Did his action benefit lsu? It's a simple question

LAndry has been much better for LSU both athletics and academics than JBE was who cares what his motivation was. He is a politician

Taking action that benefits LSU in an effort to secure political support for himself doesn't equal him being "pro-LSU" as your OP says.
I've traveled to California before and spent money there on things for myself, doesn't mean I'm "pro-California".

What matters more to you? Why someone does something? Or, what someone does?

Your trying very hard to not answer this question and I think we both know why....

Landry has been good for LSU. I don’t think that is debatable . He is a Louisiana politician so his intentions are self serving but as long as results are good that is ok with me. Could we hope for a better governor of course but don’t see one on the horizon and in no way would I want JBE back
