Chris Mullin would be an upgrade to Johnny Jones.

I think Mullen would be a great choice as well.

This is assuming we have our pick, or are guys like Jimbo off the table in this scenario?

I would take Mullen over Fisher but just don't think we have much chance of getting him. It would be kind of a bull shite move on ours and his part to leave an in division rival to go to another team in the sec and in the same division. More sleazy move than even Sabans to Bama. At least Saban went to a NFL team first.

Mullen would do a lot with our talent...he just can't pull what we have at Starkville

Seriously? I'm not seeing this at all. He couldn't even beat Miles at home with maybe the best player he'll ever get at MSU and with an extra game to practice. He also gets wrecked by Bama in worse fashion than we do now.

I guess he does do well with the level of talent MSU typically gets, but Jimbo has a much better resume.

I'm not sold on Mullen. We can do better than that.

This was one of the more impressive feats that any college coach has accomplished recently. They were #1 for quite some time too. I never thought I'd see the day when State was ranked #1 at any point in any football season. And they beat LSU for the first time this millennium (in Tiger Stadium too). He makes some boneheaded calls at times, but he has done a great job at State.

Does Mullen have 1 signature win? I can't think of any...

If Dan Mullen is our next coach, prepare yourselves for years of mediocrity.

Beating our arse in Tiger Stadium was a signature win for him because we have kicked State's arse even when we have sucked. At the time, they beat 3 top 10 teams in a row last year: LSU was #8, aTm was #6 and Auburn was #2. They didn't end that way, but when you beat those teams and you're State, they're signature wins.
