If your best employee is offered a job somewhere else for more money, you do what you have to.

getting a raise based on incentives and getting a raise because another school is trying to steal you away is 2 completely separate issues.

The other school trying to steal him is not on our level. If Les would've left for a $1.75M raise, how does us offering him .5mil change that? He wasn't going at all and knows he can't win at ark. We should've called his bluff.

Possibly, but that puts Alleva in a position to pay a lot of money for a guy who isn't as proven as Miles. You either pay a lot for Miles or you pay a lot to someone you hope acheives the success Miles has.

Miles negotiated a contract. He should honor that contract. Underperforming this season does not warrant a raise. If its all about the money...Bye

You're right. Perfection ONLY warrants a raise. I hope all of your jobs start using this same concept when determining your raises.

six 10 win seasons in 8 years is good enough for me.

He's had raises over that time too. He got incentive pay for winning the SEC last year. If he wanted a base raise, he needed to win the NC or beat Bama this year IMO.

all this "Miles just wants a raise" shite is just here say anyways. I've heard that he's only asking for a raise for some of his staff....not himself

It's fun to dream but no one really runs a successful college football team like that.

Les Miles has the leverage right now. With them beginning the Tiger Stadium expansion, the last thing the LSU AD needs is upheaval in the football program. They won't pay him anything he wants but he'll get his raise because they need his documented success to keep putting butts in the seats at least for the next 4 years or so.

No. You let him walk. No one is above the program.

Frank Wilson and Chavis deserve a raise. I'm fine with them receiving one. Miles does not this year.

Yes. Will a majority be? No.

Most are content with struggling against bad teams as long as you win.

Some(me), think we are capable of being much better than we have been over the past 8 seasons. That a number of coaches could have walked into the same situation that Miles did, and done an equal or better job with what was left.

people say LSU made Saban.

LSU made Miles, not the other way around.

LSU would survive without him.

Les deserves to be paid his market value and that is over 4 million dollars a year

Les is paid more than Richt, Spurrier, and Chip Kelly. I don't think he is that much better than either of them.

Mack is way overpaid, Les doesn't deserve Nick Saban money or Urban Meyer money as they are both more accomplished.

He maybe should be bumped to 4 mil, but didn't show enough this year for that to happen IMO. Being 4th or 5th in the SEC isn't good enough for that IMO.

The shite the bed a month later.

Look, I am a big Les fan, but he is a top 5 paid coach already. He is directly responsible for the pitfalls this year but he is also responsible for the good parts.

We are not in the NC, niot in a BCS game, not in the SECCG etc. He is a fantastic recruiter and coach and based off his performance over the past few years proved he is a top 5 coach but not the best, which is exactly where his pay grade is.

No raise but deserves what he is getting right now.

Cant say I disagree. I dont want Miles to leave, I'm not disappointed by this season, but I dont see how the last 12 months can be parlayed into more money.

exactly. Go look at his record at Okie St. He was an average, middle of the pack Big 12 coach

What is an acceptable level of success in your mind?

I'm not saying he isn't successful. I'm saying he hasn't done anything to deserve a raise after this year.

He got a raise heading into 2011. He got paid for winning the SECCG.

In 2012, what did he do to earn another raise?
