True story from "back in the day"....
In the 1990s Bob Broadhead was on local radio in BR, and one day he recounted an interesting incident. Apparently following his second Final Four appearance in 1986, Dale Brown was attempting to renegotiate the terms of his contract, and according to Broadhead Brown had received overtures from Oral Roberts University about their HC job. Bob said that Brown stormed into his office with his demands, and at the height of his dramatics reached into his coat pocket to pull out the contract from ORU. Broadhead said that at that point he called Dale's Bluff by telling him "If you take it out, go ahead and sign it". Brown didn't pull out the contract, and instead left the office with little to say.
I sure miss "Bottom Line" Bob.

Here's what you have to keep in mind:
1) This is a completely unfounded rumor at every level, put out by SbB to frick with people only;
2) This is a rumour that has been floated by (or on behalf of) Arkansas for some purpose - e.g., smokescreen for another possible hire, demonstrate what they are willing to do to their fanbase/boosters, etc.;
3) This is a rumor that has its origins from Miles' agent solely for the purpose of getting Miles a raise;
4) There is actually some "smoke" and an offer has been made to Miles which is being considered.
Miles will be able to put Nos. 1 & 2 to bed at his press conference this afternoon, if it is either one.
If it is Nos. 3 or 4, that's where Tiger fans have a right to be annoyed.
Agents are almost always attorneys, but are just that, agents. They are not authorized to take any action without the approval of their client or "principal." To the extent that this is No. 3, this is being done with Miles' permission. The agent is not going to "freelance" something that could serve to damage Miles' reputation with the fans and make them question his loyalty to the program. Moreover, if it was Miles' agent, and somehow is a pure "loose cannon" move, Miles needs to nip that shite in the bud NOW, and explain this to the public.
If its No. 4, well, it is what it is and we'll see what happens.

I just hate the "well 10 wins a year and I'm satisfied" attitude! I mean we have the keys to a motherfrickin Lamborghini and we won't take it out of first gear..that's what divides the fan base. We're coonasses (most of us) and we want to smash the pedal to the metal. And I love it.
News flash: 10 wins AIN'T good enough sha.

How much do you think he deserves Choc?
I say no more no less... perfect where it is right now.

Why would it be a career killer, Les probalby has about 5 more years left coaching, then he retires. You pay your best employess what they are worth.
There's 4 coaches currently making over 4 million a year, Saban, Stoops, Mack, Urban. And 3 that made right around what Miles made this year, Spurrier, Ferentz, Chizik.
You guys are looking at it as a raise, when it's really paying market value for a coach as proven as Miles is. Based on the level of success under Miles which group of coaches do you think he belongs with, the Stoops, Macks, and Sabans or the Spurriers, Ferentz's, and Chizik's?

Oh ok I'll play.
So the tards like yourself that say Saban built what miles has accomished. Miles built what Gundy has accomplished.
If you say that it doesn't work that way then you are a hypocrite.

Actually it is good enough. At pretty much every major college football program. When you average one win shy of competing for a national championship, that's about as good as you can hope for.
This is so stupid. If Saban wasn't in the midst of some ridiculous fluke run of success we wouldn't even be having this conversation. That's what all of this is centered on indirectly. Somehow, his 3 year run is considered the standard, when in reality it's something that only occurs every 30 years or so.
Miles will get his raise, they'll make the expansion of Tiger Stadium and in the grand scheme of things his raise will prove to be a drop in the bucket.

k. 2 double digit win seasons and a couple of choke jobs. OSU averaged 4 wins a season before Miles got there and couldn't beat OU to save their life.

13 AND A BIG ONE!!
I mean look, I hear you. I really do. Maybe it was his stubbornness in that game. Or the "stories" before the game..or maybe the throwing in of the towel before it was over in that game!! Look, I think Les is a GREAT guy and recruiter. But coach, open the playbook up (which he somewhat has of late) BEFORE we run out-routes continuously at FL and are STILL in the game! I know I'm being picky but those little things are what get us here. Cotton Bowl.

season....season....SEASON.
and that loss was in a NC game. We've "played" in a grand total of 4 of those in the entire history of LSU.....Miles has been in 2 of them.

Also I love how this thread keeps falling back in the list..If it's a "negative" view towards CLM is just shouldn't be talked about. Turrible sha.
