how would they go about doing it? Is this the best place? Would they do phone surveys or what? If they really wanted to get a sense of how the public would react to something.

Why would they care what we think?

That's not the premise of this thread. Don't worry about that, even though the answer could be that the general public spends money on LSU product.

Sorry, but I don't really think that board of supervisors or even major boosters really care what the average fan thinks.

you don't have to be sorry about thinking that. But you should be sorry for saying it in this thread, because that's like answering "I don't like color" to the question "If you to choose one color, what would it be?"

Of course not, so what is the best way to gauge public opinion on a subject like this, even if you surely don't want to let the public actually decide the issue.

Right, so what is the best way to get a sampling of the relevant public opinion?

Clearly this place is full of morons. But that doesn't mean it's not representative.

The local news did a survey earlier this week. I think 60+ % wanted miles to stay. I was suprised because on here it seems like only about 20%.
I think a lot of that is because of the jimbo rumors circulating on here. I know personally, I would only let miles go if jimbo is locked up. Otherwise keeping miles another year might be smart.
I also think bridges have been burned and it's too late to keep miles because of how it was all handled.

The people on here that want him gone are louder and declare you a moron if you want him to stay. That sort of aggressiveness, beyond signaling lower intelligence, causes group think.

This place is an absolute cesspool for public opinion.

Go back and read the ridiculous threads/posts leading up to the Alabama/LSU game. With the exception of LF7 being unexpectedly shut down, you would've thought LSU was a 14 point favorite.

There are a few guys here that go back 10-15 years on their football that are respectable, and there are the dinosaurs that appreciate the clean program, and how Les' players seem to dominate on the next level, because of the pro-type offenses he runs.

The rest of you want Chip fricking Kelly lol. The quack attack in BR. You see how ineffective that shite is in the NFL? Jimbo Fisher has character flaws. Jamesis Winston would've been dismissed by Les a long time ago. It's shameful a coach has to be caught on tv cussing out his QB. Oh, and he is going through a divorce. So he is ready for a change.

Maybe all this drama is good for LSU though. The fans themselves are drama queens.

Public opinion really shouldn't be considered.

If a group of decision makers need to poll the public on what is going on, then There is absolutely NO NEED for a group of decision makers.

If you think that way, then Hillary Clinton is your new athletic director, because she licks her finger and test the wind every day.

You need good decision makers that can make a good decision before the public even thinks there is something wrong.

Duuuuuuh.
