A few players have gained almost 30 lbs of pure muscle
No. No they haven't. Not in 8 months. With juice and about two to three years, yes. But you don't gain 30 pounds of muscle in an offseason, really even in a year. Not natty. They've gained weight. Maybe even mostly muscle. And gotten much stronger. But, no. Not 30 pounds of pure muscle.
Having said that, your point stands that they've put in the work, they've transformed even more into beasts, they will feast, and geaux Tigers!

It sure does look like it. I'd like to lose 30lbs in a summer
Jump on test. Eat lean. Sprints. Weights. Food journal. No alcohol, no food after 6pm. 8hrs sleep.
You lost me at no alcohol....

Exactly. Once you’ve gotten your newbie gains the most muscle you can add is about 1lb/month and that’s if your training and diet are insanely on point. Even on gear you can’t gain 30lbs of muscle in a few months.

Believe me I know, but if your liver is busy with booze it won't burn the fat until it can get around to it.
You can lose weight and still have vodka tonics, but you'll lose it much faster going cold turkey... And eating cold turkey. :)

quote:I apologize. I misunderstood. I was referring to GAINING 30 pounds of muscle, you need more than test. LOSING it though, YES, you're absolutely correct. That can be done in a summer simply with change of diet and hard work.
Not for most people.
Hell to lose lbs you don't really need even that. The rest of what I said will peel it off you.

If a 5’11 college football cornerback goes from 167 to 197 in about 6 months then I’d expect most of it is muscle. This is a guy that was already in excellent shape as CBs are usually among the fittest players on the team. Combine that with summer workouts and it’s not like he’d even have the chance to gain much fat

One of the LBs, can’t remember which, was on Hulberg yesterday talking about the differences in staffs approach. He says it’s much more business like, players are held responsible for being focused on their time whenever they’re away from the coaches. School, taking care of their bodies and managing their time concentrating on individually preparing to be at their best come Saturday. He said it’s a big difference from coach O. They’re being held accountable to behave in a professional manner in every way.
