I would assume we'd have 5 more years of the same -- inconsistency, prob another championship in there, MAYBE one more SEC title than we have had. That's about it.
Prob 1-2 more bowl losses too.
Saban is better at Bama than he was at LSU, you can thank his time in the pros for that.

You make it sound like he hadn't coached in the pros before. LSU may not have won a NC in 2005 but would have won it in 06 and 07 And NO telling where we would be in 2008. MUCH better than 8-5 trhough. WHY??? He knows how to caoch great talent.

In short a slightly worse record/period than what we have now - That sounds about right.

He likely would have continued his pattern of losing an average of three games per year.

We would have lost to UL-Monroe and we would have wanted him fired, same as Miles now.

If IFs and Buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas......Surely you got something better to do with your time.

Um, ok.
"He knows how to coach great talent."
Sure does.

What makes you think the same shite would not have occurred at LSU? He has better records at Bama in the past 2 years than he ever did at LSU outside of 2003. FACT -- Nick Saban lost <3 games ONE time at LSU, and has already done so 2 times at Bama in 3 years.
He had never been a head coach in the pros until Miami, PJ. He had to get that out of his system to truly dedicate himself to being a college coach. That's done and now he knows what he is -- a very good college coach at a place that he can be successful. Will he stay for long? Who knows, but I truly believe that if he had stayed at LSU in 2005, the last 5 years would look similar to the ones we have just had, or perhaps he would have taken another pro job in 2006...or 2007...etc.

One, I agree that if he hadn't have gone to the Dolphins he would have gone somewhere before now.
Two, even if he didn't leave and was still on our sidelines I think we have one more title - 2006.
I don't think the 05 team would have performed as well with Saban as the coach. Miles is much more humane than Napoleon. Saban would have freaked about Katrina and been pissed that it was interrupting the process. I think we probably lose a couple more games that year.
In 06, we probably would have gone undefeated or at the very least had one loss, beat UF in the SEC title game then handled OSU in Tempe.
2007 - same or better result.
2008 - we probably would have had Colt McCoy, so we'd have been right back in the thick of things, but who knows about winning it all.
Three - people need to realize that Saban wouldn't be as good of a coach if he had stayed with us as he is now. The pros taught him a level of humility, I think. Plus it fine tuned him into the little Terminator he is now.

We would have Colt McCoy and 1 possibly 2 more NC's...if...the team didn't self destruct and some player snap and choke the crap out of him.

Holy sh*t, if we'd lost to ULAMO, I'd have lost it! Every LSU fan would have bitched out every person even remotely associated with the Athletic Dept... those that weren't cowering in disbelieving embarrassment & shame.

I think the record would have been as good or maybe even a little better, because Saban would have put up with Perilloux. Miles runs too much of a tight ship with high character guys to put up with that stuff.
Once LSU gets over the deep QB hole it dug with the unexpected loss of Perilloux, and trying to replace the likes of Fisher and Pellini (which is not easy to do), both which are now head coaches, LSU will be on top again. I think the only hole right now is Fisher's departure.

not saying that but no way we drop all 8. Defense is the reason we lost most of those 8 games.

That would be 'Governor" Saban by now.
