and JR got hurt in that game, too bad his back up sucked dick, meanwhile the back up in 2007 played well in the SEC title game.
I also love how they ignore the fact we had the EXACT SAME SEC RECORD in 2007 as we did in 2006. We beat Arkansas in 2006, but they still went to the SEC CG because they won all the rest of their SEC games. Lucky for us, Auburn and Bama lost other SEC games in 2007 besides to us, otherwise we would not won the SEC. Circumstances way beyond or control led to the titles in 2007.

Losing on the road to #1 UF and #8 AU >>> losing at UK and at HOME to Arkansas.

I wish Tiger fans would start giving JR the credit he deserves. Whether many of you care to recognize it or not, he goes down as one of the greatest QB's in LSU history. Not only did he have all the physical tools, he had the intangibles too. Just stop and think for a moment how many 4th quarter comebacks were engineered by JR, and at places like t-town, knoxville. And for those that are convinced he's an idiot and can't read defense, check out his touchdown to interception ratio his last year...one of the best in LSU history, if not the best at least in recent history. Oh, and we didn't lose the auburn game in 06 b/c of JR, we lost that game b/c fisher took the ball out of JR's hands!

While I certainly haven't read every SFP post on here. I, more often than not, read where he and a few others, bring back into proper perspective the whole JR vs. the world debate. While I don't agree with SFP on everthing, I think it's even ridiculous that this debate exists. In my opinion, in the back of most people's minds that try to tear down JR, is the image of an LSU QB hoisting a trophy....SECC, NC....and in that image it's not JR because he never won one. Most fans are so endeared to the QB's and team leaders that helped us win championships that when a discussion like this begins, they lose sight of a head-to-head debate on the QB position and shift into the team accomplishments under a certain QB. While winning championships is the pinnacle for all teams, it is not the determining factor in a discussion on "best" at a positon....it's just not.

This is true and I had a great time at these games
even when we lost. Many of these posters seem to not remember 2000 fans at road games and getting trashed on the field, we should bullshite on here and not insult people you don't know.

exactly. I always loved that argument by the Rantards. You mean to tell me JR played better against worse defenses, and worse against better defenses? Surely, he is the only QB in history that fits that pattern.

why, Russell didn't get hurt in the 2005 SEC CG? or was Flynn's 3-11 for 36 yards with a pick a good game.

Noone can even begin to describe Rohan Davey's career (which is what this thread was about) without admitting that he was "bailed out" by Josh Reed repeatedly. There were times he almost blindly heaved the ball down field only to have Reed make an incredible leaping catch. I really enjoyed Rohan's time at LSU, but for anyone to think he wasn't made much better by Reed is just not being objective.

I cannot believe you Russell lovers are trying blame that 2005 SEC CG loss on Flynn. Amazing.

never said it was, don't get me wrong, I'm not blowing Flynns horn, never have, never will. The two are diff QB's , and Flynn's skills were avg at best. I'm saying what I've said all a long that JR is a strongarmed QB with that doesn't read defenses well, he had 3 good receivers to choose from in college, so it disguised the problem, but we shall see in the pros.

You do not complete 68% of your passes for 9+ yds without being able to read defenses. Now, reading defenses in college and the pros are 2 entirely different things.
