Mike Leach has a coaching style very much like Saban. He doesn't take crap from anybody, knows the game and is a risk-taker. It would be fun to watch.

With his temperament, we would be watching from a deposition tape or court testimony.

We all know that Miles is not the X's and O's kinda coach.
How do you know this?

It is comical how a man that has been coaching his entire adult live in major college football and the NFL is considered football illiterate by the message board guru's on the rant.

This has to be without a doubt, the stupidest, most dumbest thread EVER. The head coach for LSU is Les Miles. Here we are at the start of a new season, in the midst of recruiting and you start a thread about a coaching wish list?

This sends the wrong message to the players, recruits, and your team's opponents. You all are projecting an anticipation of a losing season so Miles can get fired and your fantasies come to fruition. What a band of fricking losers you are.

No sir, you have just taken the cake for worst post ever. You need to get your head out of your arse. You people that pat yourselves on the back as if people give a shite what you anonymously type on a message board. Ask a player if they give a shite what people say on TD - They don't!

Any recruit, coach, or player who reads a frickin message board to make any type of decision has completely lost their mind, and we do not need that type of person here anyway.

I read all five pages, and I remember the clamor to get rid of Charlie McClendon. It's like deja vu. "We'll never get past 7 and 3 each year. Why can't we beat Alabama? Three yards and a cloud of dust! Why doesn't he turn Bert Jones loose?"

Soooooo, we get rid of him and hire Bo Rein. A tragedy unfolds with his death, and the road to mediocrity is paved on into the next millenium.

Okay, so let's fire Les, hire a good coach to replace him, and bring him here on a fricking bus! Problem solved!

Don't know if anybody said Dan Mullen of Moo State. Not proven yet, but Moo State was improved. It will be interesting to see what they accomplish this year, and being a Meyer guy, he would shoot up the desired list if he can win 7 there.

Personally, I would like to win 10 and keep Les. Stability cannot be replaced with chance. Chance needs to be taken when stability has totally gone. Let's see.

Mike Leach's run and shoot spread offense would not win a national championship at LSU. An opponent who could run the ball and establish balance would keep LSU of the field. We need balance on offense. Run and shoot teams do not win national championships. It doesn't win in the NFL or college.

Let's get Patterson. We could have the 109th ranked offense in the country and STILL win the NC.

I'd take any one of these guys. But...I'm not sold on Del Rio. Doubt Petersen would come to LSU and I hope he wouldn't.

Pelini
Gruden
Muschamp
Dooley
Harbaugh
Patterson
Sarkisian
Fitzgerald - coaching at his alma mater...would he leave?
Edsall - doubt he would come this far south
Schiano - I think he's from Jersey. He may go as far as Penn St. when Paterno dies/retires but he's not coming to LSU.

Mac's program was in disarray at the end and Stovall and Arnie improved it greatly. We won 2 SEC titles in the next 7 years after winning one in about 20 years with Mac and finished up in a major bowl in 3 of those years. Arnie left enough talent behind for Archer to be ranked #5 at the end of the season after he left with an SEC title.

The mistake was hiring Archer, who ruined the next three years, and Joe Dean, who wrecked the rest of the century... not firing Mac.

I will be 59 years old on the 30th of the month. Three days earlier Mac Brown will turn the same age. I do not see him retiring within the next ten years. His "coach in waiting" may never actually be the head coach of the Longhorns but being the number 2 guy in a awesome town such as Austin and making nearly a million dollars a year trumps whatever the Tiger would offer. I live near Austin. Texas has two big rivals. OU and TAMU. They get charged up each time they play either of these teams in any sport. But the underlying hatred of LSU is palpable. Texas would NEVER allow Will to leave and go to LSU. Texas has more money than God and they would use that money to insure such would never happen.

Good post. Personally I hope and pray Miles succeeds at LSU. He is fun and entertaining. Yes he is a goof ball at times and sometimes I do not quite understand what he says or tries to say. But I a pulling for him.

The pirate is fun but he is like Coach Miles on crack. If he was hired I am certain this rant board would literally melt down

They could not (or, would not) match 2 1/2 to (maybe) 3 million for an assistant coach. They cannot offer him the limelight early.

thanks, you are a man among men. As for Miles, I agree about the speech and the convoluted logic, but some how it usually comes together to become a reasonable thought. Next I am sure I will hear what an idiot I am because I can translate "Miles speak."

This season can't start fast enough for me. The "I hate Miles" versus the "I love Miles" factions can suck the life out of the room. And yes, I have participated more than once in this same thing. After the NC game, I am expecting this rant board to explode then implode upon itself.

It could have happened after his 1st year at AL. It will never happen after he is undefeated in the SEC in his 2nd and 3rd years back in the SEC and just won the BCSNC. Never.
But we got the hat - let er rip. We have the want to dominate.
