any young coach who is able to field a team that can compete with mediocre talent should be able to succeed at LSU.

All the positigers that act negative about replacing CLM make me laugh...CLM has proven just about any coach can win here so be positive

Some young energy would be of great benefit IMO. Of course someone like Jimbo would be ideal. But I wouldn't mind an up and comer who gets his dick hard at the thought of beating Saban.

Yeah the same "gimmick" offense (as every offense is called by LSU tards) that put up 27 pts on the best LSU defense of all time.
We controlled them very effectively throughout the game, and gave a a late garbage TD. The score wasn't a good indicator of the game

Honestly my personal choices would be Bryan Kelly, who I've heard pundits tote as a potential replacement for Richt if he goes so why wouldn't he rather go to LSU?.. And while I'd assume it would be a diaper l disaster Leach at WSU I'd get given his track record of success at cruddy programs...

of course I would prefer a proven big name coach...all I am saying is I think a bright young coach with energy could do very well at LSU. Recruiting grounds are fertile, has top 5 facilities, and LSU has been known to be a powerhouse for all the kids being recruited now.

Kelly was also in the process of making Oregon a tier 1 program while competing with USC, UCLA and Stanford for recruits. Oregon is not the best state for HS football talent. I'd like to think he would have his pick of the litter in LA if given the opportunity.

but hell the Eagles could still win their division. NFC east is dog shite.

I agree 100%. LSU is now a known commodity and all they need is some energy injected. Idk if Les can bring that level of energy back, as it seems everyone is starting to give up on him. His presser was disheartening. A bright young coach would be fun. I'd even be willing to take a couple of lumps early on.

Sean Payton. The whole owner debacle is going to cause him to leave the Saints. He could probably be lured to LSU with a Les Miles salary. Then, for sure we would have an offense.

Are you crazy? We have a monopoly on in state recruiting and all we have to do so is sell those guys on LSU. Think about how Les would do at Auburn or one of the Mississippi schools.

I have no inside information, but I honestly believe Jimbo would consider coming here.

He knows the area very well and he knows he will be guaranteed a pipeline of blue-chip talent year-after-year (no in-state competition unlike what he deals with now in Florida).

You also have to factor in that Saban is getting old and will most likely be gone in a few years. Without Nick to deal with every year, the SEC West won't be THAT hard to win.

I think his unwillingness to adapt offensively is his undoing. With a good offensive minded coach, doesn't have to be the Baylor spread, I think we would be able to get awesome qbs. I do think we have had qbs that have more than enough talent to lead our teams since CLM has been here but our offensive system makes them look terrible.

It's cliche at this point to say this, but it doesn't make it less true....Les needed to be the "big picture" guy and let his OC be an OC.

You are a moron! LSU is one of the top 5 coveted coaching jobs in college. Do you think every D1 school pays $4 million per? Grow up
