How will it affect the respect you have for the man?

With 2 possibilities. . .

1) he keeps crowton
2) he fires crowton

Maybe give me a little more respect for him. Wouldn't change the fact that I think he limits our football team

He would win the fan base by giving Gary the boot

If he said "I love LSU." I will stay at LSU because I love the kids and you don't have to give me a raise or extend my contract it may impress me.

However, Miles is playing this situation to his full benefit. That does not make me respect him any more or less than I already do.

Depends.

If he stays with current contract in place, then I'd say he earns a lil more respect for his loyalty.

If he uses this to renegotiate his current contract for an extension and a raise, then I don't think he'd earn any respect. I know it certainly wouldn't make me respect him more.

Ill look forward to the following:

Our HC constantly needing assistance to see how many timeouts we have

Our HC constantly standing on the sidelines with this dumbfounded look like he is lost.

Our HC constantly staring at the scoreboard like the son of a bitch is about to crumble to the ground.

Our HC doing whatever it takes to beat the mid to low level caliber of teams in college rather than punching them in the mouth and make them think twice about scheduling.

I would go on but I need to go give my sons a bath and dunk my head to cool off.

All this criticism for Miles and that he may be playing this to his advantage etc ... how many people wouldn't do the same thing in our own jobs? There aren't very many people who can honestly say they wouldn't do what they could to get paid to do the same thing they were doing the day before.

I'm not a big Miles fan and I agree with the point that he's limited our offense. And while I wouldn't be sad to see him go - there's no guarantee that we are going to get a big named person to take this job. It's awful late to be changing coaches with recruiting etc - so whatever happens I hope it happens soon.
