The guy said "this decade". A decade is a period of ten years. He's adding up the wins over a ten year period, so he's right on the money.

Fun thread until you dweebs cleared your throats, pushed your taped glasses up your noses, and gave us your lesson in assholiness.

Heaven forbid people actually understand the English language. It's the second time some a-hole has said it isn't a decade, and they're wrong. If me calling them out means I've got taped glasses and such, guess I better pull my pocket protector out as well.

Are you saying that 1 AD to 9 AD was the first decade even though it was only nine years and that the year 10 AD started the second decade of the AD era. Keep beliving the media and Websters dictonary. It's the scale we use and I can't help it if you are smarter than those old guys that started the first year of the AD era at 1 AD.

2000 was the first year of the decade, but not the first year of the century. They are counted differently.

Go look that up anywhere. And just because you think it is wrong doesn't mean anything. That is how society views it, so you are wrong.

As a matter of fact, yes I am. From the beginning of the first year, to the very end of the 9th year (beginning of the 10th) That is a 10 year span. Going from Jan 1, 1 to Jan 1, 10 is 10 years, also known as a decade. You can't be this stupid.

take a time machine back to 10 CE and ask someone what decade it was

the CE/BCE scale is pretty artificial, and using the lack of a year 0 in an argument just shows your ignorance

Major Fail. I won't ask where you went to school, but you and many others on here are qualified to work CLM's clock management war room.

Finally someone using the numbers to convinced me. So we can look forward to a 100 win decade. Only a few colleges can claim that for this decade. I wonder how many different QB's LSU started during this decade as opposed to lets say UTw, Flordia, OU and USC. I wonder if we can claim great coaching like those teams claim.

By the way, the term "Bayou Bengal" is a misnomer. While tigers in nature do frequent the saline mangrove swamps of Asia, the French word "bayou" specifically refers to the fresh water swamps of the North American continent.

Just so you all know.

BTW, still noticed that you have yet to respond to why a game clock counts to zero. Or why dictionaries don't agree with you.

OK, The Dating Game has now officially buzz-killed LSU's 10-year record thread.

As it started, "If LSU wins its bowl game, it will have won 100 games in the LAST 10 SEASONS." Or "in the LAST 10 YEARS." Or, OVER A 10-YEAR PERIOD." See what I just did there?

I know who's 100-percent correct about the decade debate, but he does, too. With genuine respect for fellow Ranters, there has to be another place to have this exchange.

I swear on my mother's grave, if you all don't resolve this soon, I'm gonna introduce the first of many related and vexing threads. Starting with: "If LSU's women's basketball team wins 25 games this year, it will have X-amount of wins for the decade, starting in 2000-01."

LSU will have 100 Wins this Decade.

this is even more impressive when you consider the fact that it took us 88 years to rack up 500 wins, but 10 to pull in another 100 ..

I was wondering why his first decade had 365 days less than his second decade. But he was trying to use math and I give him credit for trying to get the answer himself instead of using a poor reference like Websters. I had a teacher tell me the word I was using was not a word unless it was conisdered a word by Websters. Then years later that word was in Websters so who was right? I was because there are tons of words not in Websters like Russian, French, Chinese and so on. But my math teacher claimed math is right all the time no matter what decade or what country you live in. I jumped in this thread because someone said that the "0" year is not used in any decade.
All I want is that these young guys use their brains by challanging them to use math and not someone else's work. That's all I ask my lab techs to do at work.
