I'm not so sure that Stanford will be as great as they are hyped up to be. Sure they have the best QB in the NCAA, but they also have other problems. They are missing their big full back and two of their best receivers. Not to mention they have a different coach with a different kind of philosophy.

I see your point.

As as far as wanting to play oregon later in the season, playing them the first game is definitely in our favor. Les always does best with time to prepare, and I'm pretty sure Oregon started out slowly last year. Plus they lose a ton on both sides of the ball. I like our chances. We'll both have questions, but I think we'll have the answers more quickly.

Hey man, big chicks need loving too.

No arguement there, I just like them So Cal beach ready with brains. I married into a family of very good looking women, 90210 looks. My mother-in-law modeled in NYC when she was young, my wife modeled in LA when she was in her 20s and one of my nieces is modeling in LA right now.

I forgot about Les's ability to prepare when give time. Now that I think about it, it will be in our favor. Despite a questionable offense, we will have a stud defense. And I have a feeling that Coack Krag and CLM will put together a nice game plan for our offense.

Is your niece 18 or 19 years old? If so, tell her some good looking stud from down south Louisiana is interested.

Actually, she's 21, very smart and runs a tight ship when it comes to her modeling career. So far I think she's gotten 4 mag covers, done some runway work and quite a bit of glamour shots for ad agencies. As for the dating scene, I stay out of that, I'm a bit of a protective guy and I'd probably run a few guys off. LOL

I play scabble with her on her iphone, last weekend she was at some party in Hollywood when she sent her latest word. So I suspect she's hanging with a pretty fast crowd.

I just don't see any rematch happening, regardless of who wins and loses the first game. I think the voters would say that we've already seen this game and go elsewhere. I could see the loser of our game still making it to the MNC, but it would have to be against another conference opponent, Stanford, Bama etc.

Of course, this could all get thrown out the window if there are multiple 1 and 2 loss teams but outside of some extremely controversial call in a close game, I just don't see us meeting up twice this season.

Well, we didn't exactly start out slowly last year (ask any New Mexico or Tennessee fan).

But Oregon's four losses in Kelly's tenure have all been to decent or better opponents, away from home, who all had at least two weeks to prepare for the Ducks:

@ Boise State (season opener)
@ Stanford (bye week)
vs Ohio St (Rose)
vs Auburn (BCS)

Only Stanford in 09 could be accused of having a below-average defense, and Luck and Gearhart just tore up our D in that game (didn't help that James had a bad case of can't-handle-the-pass).

We're all expecting the trend to be broken in the Jerrydome, but nobody could be blamed for thinking that having an excellent defense, with lots of preparation time, is a huge advantage against Oregon's offense. So this game scares the crap out of me.

question is will they be better the first game of the season or will it take a couple games to start hitting on all cylinders

Valid point... but I believe this will be Oregons first game too.

Lots have changed since then... including the SEC winning a few NCs which will help "sway" future "close calls".

instead of sugarcoating it, let's be blunt. The SEC has proven domination OOC for the top teir teams for FIVE years running. The college football landscape in the SEC has come full circle. The last two times the champ was in the Crescent City, we won it all. We are expecting championships down here (spoiled but true) and you ducks are running into a team of destiny in Dallas. We are going to make quite an example.
