if Vegas says we're +17 and we execute the game plan and have zero turnovers we would win this game 9 out of 10 times. Anything can happen. Case in point...Troy. By late second quarter we should all have a better handle on who we are. This is a classic season opening trap game if the kids don't play to their capabilities. Give Washington some credit...18 returning starters and protecting home turf from the 'all everything SEC, will steel their resolve. Geaux.

Would someone explain to me why UW fans really think HS is louder than TS? SERIOUSLY??? It doesn't make any sense to me...

OK, OK, I'll give ya'll some credit. I'm changing my prediction from LSU 50, Washington 10 to LSU 49, Washington 10.

I don't know why people are laughing at the "cold, wet weather" comment.

I'll be there and have been checking the weather.

weather report for Saturday night

70% rain, high 50s, and a damp wind coming off the water.

Ain't no other way to describe it than "cold, wet."

Jarrett Lee? I'd be pretty nervous. It might be a little unfair on the guy, this being a new season and all, but he was just a little too good at hitting defenders in the hands last season to make me comfortable.

Lee is a much better passer than UDubs starter, Locker. Don't expect a B12 South style gunslinging effort on the part of the Tigers. Probably less than 25 passes all game anyway.

don't underestimate our crowd. We hit 135 decibels against Nebraska. Also, the team most definitely will be pumped up playing the first game for Sark. Now I don't think we'll win the game, but give us a little credit.

Never been to Husky so I can't comment. I will be there Saturday and will give you your due respect if warranted.

Crowd noise? Uh, we play in the SEC. 90,000-100,000 seat stadiums full of football maniacs. I promise, on y'alls best day, We've heard better.

Wet weather? Our first couple games are usually played in a hurricane. We can handle it.

Cold? Seriously. Stop. Which would you rather play in? 100 degree heat with 100% humidity or 55-60 degree football weather?

Key injury? If we can't beat UW with our 2's we have a problem. The measure of a great team is depth. If we don't have depth we will never succeed in the SEC. And yes, Lee should have plenty to beat UW.

Such prolonged exposure, says Knudsen, results in a degeneration of the organ of Corti—part of the middle ear's acoustic apparatus—and a decrease in the number of ganglia, or nerve cells, in the ear. The U.S. Air Force's Dr. Henning E. von Gierke warns that continued exposure to 135 decibels of noise for longer than ten seconds once a day, or to 100 decibels for more than eight hours a day, may result in permanent hearing loss.

Oh, and the wikipedia page has been edited.

LSU had great talent and great depth last season. Just like every MNC contender does. They lacked good coaching in certain areas, and experience in others. It made what could have been a championship team mediocre.

Don't get me wrong, I think LSU will be a damned good team this season, because you've fixed most of your issues (2 DC's, found your go to QB), but to think they couldn't fall on the road if conditions were bad is a bit silly.

FWIW I have LSU winning the game 38-17, and pulling away for good in the 3rd quarter.

Didn't USC lose in 2007 to stanford? or am I thinking of some other team?
We did.

What's interesting is that if we'd beaten Oregon that season we would have gone to the BCSNCG anyway.

but given a few x factors like:
Cold, wet weather
Unforeseen turnovers
Sloppy first game of the year play
Hostile Crowd
Pumped Up Home Team
Injury to a key starter (Scott or Jefferson)
Game of a lifetime by Locker & co.
I could almost see it happening.

Most amazing (and extensive) list of hypotheticals I've seen strung together to make a speculative point. Congrats, dude.

You're playing UW and not USC: Merry Christmas.

Thanks.

I agree that if UW plays the game of their life and we aren't careful with the ball, couple that with some of Les's boneheaded gameday coaching mistakes==then it could be a very close game like Oregon St. 2004.

Most likely it'll be like the MSU game in 2007. Sloppy play in the 1st half and just pull away in the 2nd half.

It's an extensive list, because you'd probably need the majority of
those things happening if you were actually to lose the game.

Just think, 3 more days and all the "Off-Season" speculation will end
and we'll get back to "In-Season" smack talk.

Not if you ran the table after that loss and got back into the BCSCG.

And since that involves beating UF, and maybe UF again (or UGA) in the SECCG, it's quite possible.
