If we're top 10, there must be some really shitty fans elsewhere.

You know who the worst fans are? The ones who start threads bitching about other fans. That's who. Geez. Get a life.

See comments above about the propensity of LSU Fans
to turn on LSU fans... In this case for asking others their opinion of themselves.

I don't go to games to cheer on fellow LSU fans. I go to cheer on the LSU football team.

Over the last decade, I'd have to give the FB program higher grades than the fans

By pretty much every conceivable measurable metric, LSU's fans are at the highest echelon of college football. Lately, our team has been pretty close to that, too, but even with its vast improvement in this millenium, the team has not surpassed the fans, so your grading system is screwy.

A few examples:

LSU has finished in the top ten in the country in attendance something like 55 of the last 60 years. The team? Not so much.

LSU consistently stays in the top five or ten in the country in athletic department revenues, which are a product of the many different ways that LSU fans spend money to support all our programs. The team? Not so much.

There has never been a list of great college football atmospheres published that did not have LSU in its top 10, top 5 or however many they listed. The team? Not so much.

The other complaints you have are subjective and basically unmeasurable. You think people leave too early. OK. At 90% of places (or more), they would be happy if 90,000 plus showed up for games, regardless of how late they stay.

You don't like "Neck"? OK, ignore it. That's what I do, and it hasn't bothered me. Sure it's immature. If it's the most immature thing that 15,000 kids from 18-22 years old do in college, they'll be in good shape.

Booing happens everywhere. It's stupid and unproductive and immature and it happens everywhere. Alabama fans have booed Saban and their team, and they've had a lot less to boo about than LSU fans.

Turn on fellow fans for being Positigers and Negatigers? Aren't you doing that right now?

And "you get the impression" we don't travel as well as we once did? Where in the hell would you get that idea? I don't work at the ticket office, but I will bet they disagree with you. I personally know a lot of people who used to be able to get tickets to just about any road game and have continued donating and now can't get nearly what they used to.

Does anyone think the players HAVEN'T noticed?

If there were any truth to your claims, I don't know if the players would have noticed or not. Thank goodness you are here to make sure they do, even if it's bullshite.

Mr Nitwit, I'm an LSU grad and have lived all over and always been an LSU fan. I recently retired and to get football season tickets, I had to donate over $10,000[to date $20.000}. I get away tickets, but I think I'm about to stop because they are so high. TAF wants all too donate, but they never say how much it takes to get decent seats at home or away. Therefore, when we pay coaches what we pay them and we get what we got in 2011, I think I'm a good fan, but I have the right to leave early, criticize, be disgusted, and totally pissed, but booing is not cool.

I agree that CLM has made LSU a top 5 program but the LSU fan base is now more of the O.Miss wine & cheese variety. TS, for the most part, is now a large & loud, for at least 2 quarters, cocktail party. There are too many examples to use as for fans leaving way too early, but the aubbie games recently have resulted in half empty TS by the 3rd quarter; the Moo St. game last yr was a national embarrassment with mabe 40K in the stands in the 3rd quarter. And that's just a few conference games. The old TS of 68K fans is what made TS so famous, the crowds were crammed in & loud the whole game. Not a negatator, just noting what I've observed sitting in TS the past 4-5 yrs. God only knows what the crowds would be like if LSU ever lost 4-5 games in one season.

Who else has fans willing to throw piss balloons, turn over porta potties, and curse at 8 year old girls standing in line for dip-n-dots all in the name of their beloved team's honor?
Top 10? I say best ever!!!

I'm not sure if you are kidding, but what we got in 2011 was the first undefeated SEC and regular year in half a fricking century and our second invite to the BCSCG in five years.

Anyone disgusted or totally pissed about anything going on with LSU football the last decade, is an ungrateful and blind fool.

LSU fans are clearly to ten based on attendance, but nowhere near the top three or four in consecutive sell outs. Nebraska goes back to 1962 last time I looked, and Fla leads the SEC.

To say LSU is a SHOE IN for top 5 especially after last season and the unknowns this season is a little suspect.

Can someone tell me if this guy is just trolling? I have to know so I can move on. TIA.
