If LSU has a new DC in 2016, Miles gets a pass.

If Miles is breaking in a new DC in 2016, IMHO, he won't be dismissed if he goes 9-3.

That's the downside of dismissing Steele. Coach Miles has a built-in excuse for another season like 2015.

I'm 100 percent sure we will have a new DC in 2016.

No. No more excuses. Beat Bama and win the SEC.

Depends who he hires.

If he gets the right guy, the excuse goes out the window

they have enough talent defensively to improve next year with a good coordinator

If we score three points a game I'm not so sure about your prognostication.

That definitely depends on the offense. If the defense is stellar and we lose 3-5 games because the offense remains inept, the situation is different than if the offense improved and the D struggled. Miles has an offensive background, so he'll be judged by the offense.

I don't think so either, because, IMHO, this team is losing three games next season.

The powers that be will give Miles a pass.

He won't need an excuse when (not if) if has another season like 2015. Seasons like 2015 are all LSU ever cares to have. Nobody at LSU, nor most LSU fans, have the slightest desire ever to win another championship of any kind. 4th place in the west is a perfectly good place to be....forever.

Can't win the West without good, consistent QB play and that is highly unlikely.

I don't care if Saban took the DC job at LSU next year with the talent we have, 2011 defense is never happening again. 3 or more losses again next year. We won't rush for 400 yards against any team next year like last night.

I'm one of the biggest Les supporters on here and I'll also be the first to admit he has zero margin for error next year. Right or wrong no excuse will be acceptable

Wow it is unreal how many people have been thinking that a 3 loss season in 2016 gets Les fired! It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

You are very mistaken if you think LSU makes a change at HC just because the team goes 9-3 in the 2016 regular season. 9-3 is considered to be good enough to retain the HC, mark my words.

ZERO margin for error? LSU has NEVER held a football HC to that kind of standard EVER. Never has and never will.

With all due respect, IMHO, you are pipe dreaming. If LSU is competitive in 2 of 3 losses in 2016, the LSU President will retain the HC.

Exactly. THIS and three losses is now considered a successful, yet not optimal, season for LSU football. Anybody who thinks otherwise is pipe dreaming.
