"IF" LSU beats a #1 Alabama team
We should raid the field
I dont give a frick what yall think. I never got to do it and I want to experience it as a student.
I believe this is what the psychiatrist would call a "selfish introspective young hippie".
Raiding the field is, ..., how should I put it, ...,
STUPID.
It should be reserved ONLY FOR THE MOST EXTREME OF CIRCUMSTANCES.
For instance, if Coach He Whose Name Shall Never Be Spoken had beaten Florida in 1993 instead of losing 58-3 THEN raiding the field would have made sense. Why? Because we sucked arse that year, and Florida was awesome.
We do not suck arse. Despite the disappointment of last week - LSU still has a great football team. If we beat Bammer - it will be because we are better than them, or because we are on par with them - not because we suck arse and there was some fluke win.
"raiding the field" is to be reserved for seasons that suck arse where we unexpectedly beat a far superior opponent. Got it newbie? But since we have an Awesome Hat as Coach - there will be no more seasons that suck arse. Yes, maybe we won't win a Championship game every year - but there will be no more suck arse He Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken type seasons.
So suck it up. If you raid the field you'll be the only jackass doing it. You know that LSU put up those double support goal posts for a reason, right?
Instead - this is what you need to do after we win. Wait around and sing "hey Baby" with the band and the Alma Mater - and then walk quietly back to your car or home - all the while soaking in the look in the faces of the Bammer fans. There's no need to taunt. Just look at their sad faces. They will probably be undefeated and expecting a Nick Satan NC year - then we will beat them.
So instead of raiding the field and getting arresting or having your head bashing in by a falling goal post - I would seriously recommend just soaking in the look of defeat on the Bammer's faces. Is the most beautiful thing in the world!
Heck I barely even got to go to the games when I was a student, too busy working. I was just happy it was a job where I could listen to the game on the radio. Ahhh, the Dinardo years! He may not have been the best, but he took us out of suckdom and put us into mediocredom.

I was going to LINK to another thread saying if you took this seriously, you're a dumbass but I was too lazy
The only thing dumber than raiding the field - starting a thread on a message board pretending like you're going to raid the field and then saying "ha! just kidding!"

I was at the Auburn @ Georgia Tech game in 2003. Auburn was pretty highly ranked, and GT shut them down 17-3.
We rushed the field as we won and it was one of my best college memories. It was so awesome, getting to talk to all the football players on the field. seeing the goal posts come down then taken out the stadium (at GT we run them to the school's president's house on campus and cut up the goal post)
I know LSU football is too good for that, so y'all won't get to experience it.

Have fun. Alone.
Why raid the field? It's like it would be a colossal upset. They might be favored, but I don't think it would surprise people that much if we won.

I remember that game. First the refs nearly fricked LSU by giving bama the ball after a punt. Then two LSU fans ran onto the field and mooned the bama team. LSU won and we rushed the field. I was put on the goal post which was covered in grease.

Absolutely not... it would be a big win for LSU if Bama comes into the game undefeated
But you don't rush the field to celebrate beating an opponent you have a good winning streak against.

Beating Bama in this decade does not rate a storming of the field--nothing new!
Let’s all give Papa Steve-our frustrated ole geyser-a standing ovation when he single-handedly storms the field.

No...No you shouldn't!
LSU has won 2 NC's in the last five years and is the only school i the history of college football to have two BCS championships. If you want to rush the field you should become a ULM fan and follow them around the country waiting for them to play us again.
LSU fans should never rush the field.
