This. I didn't think it would be like this, but it did.

we started very conservative, got comfortable, opened it up some, got a big lead, and went back to ultra conservative.

You just described the Les Miles offense after shitting on it on this thread. Makes perfect sense.

Brand new qb - new line - new rbs- new wr OF COURSE they were conservative

It takes time for most ..27 with barely trying is phenomenal and coaches know it I'm sure

I'm sure you'd have been a little more pissed with a blown lead with 2 pick sixes vs runs up the middle

The stat line is the stat line. Might we see a more pass happy offense in the future? I hope so, but to say this is a better passing team than the Miles era after that game is just wron

Im not saying that and maybe typing isn’t matching what I’m thinking, but in one game we saw some things from a qb at LSU that we have been missing, and it’s exciting to see where this team can go.

IF esminger can be a top OC, I’m not so sure about that

They showed some things. As I said, what Burrow did presnap was very impressive. It's going to be interesting to see if they can complete some short and intermediate passes to move the chains and keep drives alive. My only point is that they didn't prove that in this game.

Na Miles teams very rarely took a big lead in the second freaking quarter, Miles teams for years would play it close play it close, until our talent took over, or one of those lucky les plays happened.

Remember the fake fg at Florida when the ball bounced perfectly to get s first down? That play will probably never happen again, it’s was so impossible.

You must not have been a fan long haha

This thread is so asinine

Les was a lot of things but when it came to OOC games/season openers he typically always kicked arse outside his last year vs Wisconsin who ended up finishing as a top 10 team.

Some of Les's season opener wins

Arizona State
Washington
North Carolina
Oregon
TCU
Wisconsin (2014)

Virginia Tech wasn't a season open in 07 but second game of the year but we cruised on that one as well

To say we get smoked vs Miami is insane, we started at midfield most of the time due to Miami's punter, the defense wrecked shite as always, the bulk of LSU's offense came from Brossette.

Les loses that game. I’m not saying O is a better coach because I don’t think that but Les wasn’t recruiting for need he was recruiting for class rating. No way Burrow is here with Les here.

Miles had such a streak going of losing to OOC opponents in the regular season, right?

Sarcasm of course.

Let me just say this, looks like you are a Miles man, and I appreciate what miles did at LSU. But with the talent this man brought into BR, he should have won more. Also miles being the most successful record coach at LSU, why hasn’t the man been able to land a job?

No way Miles could have managed 140 yards passing and a 50 yard TD run by a RB.

Because he isn't actually looking. He's getting 6 figures a month to relax with his family.

Are you saying we don't win vs Miami without Burrow?

Are you kidding me? lol

alright dude. I’m not even a O fan but you could see the talent under Miles lacking in certain positions. Sorry it hurts your feels but the program was declining under him.

None of this has anything to do with how many passing yards he could have gotten vs Miami compared to what Burrow had.

I never cared for the way Miles coached, but he won and liked that.

Hmm dominant defensive performance. Good field position under 300 yards of offense

Big win

Feels like a classic Les win
