Best part about this entire thread is that Les is staying, and I couldnt be happier about it!

It would be dificult for Lou-lou to be a Tiger fan even if we hired his son.

I would be with you. We all are critical at times of Les but continuity and his better than average recruiting is in the best interest of the university.

Could you imagine the recruiting classes if Gruden was the HC at LSU? I bet he would kill it. He has the NFL connections, the personality, comes off younger than he is, and everyone knows him. We would be sick in a year or two.

That's not the problem - if you let a coach go because you're not willing to pay him market value, your pool of candidates shrinks rapidly.

Try to get Saban, or anybody top-tier, here on a shoestring. I guess if your goal is to get a guy as cheaply as possible, Petrino is probably flexible - or Butch Davis. Or Gene Chizik.

Unrealistically
Gruden - This would be an unfair advantage. Gruden would recruit better than Saban AND Miles and has the coaching ability and knowledge. One of the few I would like to see other than Les. Sorry.

Brian Kelley - The proof is in the puddin. Although his recruiting is unproven his coaching obviously is.

The only two I would want over Miles. And Kelley is questionable.

With that being said, he isn't going anywhere.

I don't think Les will leave LSU. Of course, Arky would not be that far for Les to recruit Louisiana. If LSU would give Les a raise close to what Arky may offer like 5 million, Alleva better make him agree to hire a new offensive coordinator and keep the offense in the top 50.

There are many candidates and it would be interesting to see what they can do. Remember the last 2 head coaches LSU has hired havent been big names and they have done very well.
