If Leavitt sits in the pocket against OM we would have won by 2 scores

Leavitt is good enough to keep drives alive in the pocket and that is all we need.

He was too gassed up against OM, he bolted immediately and OM knew he would. They were right there to corral him. I dont know the exact TOP difference in the first half but it was significant until late in the 2nd quarter. Our D was gassed and Chambliss had a hell of a game.

Aunts and uncles and all that, and October will make it more clear, but I think this team is in the Texas, UGA, ND, Ohio State echelon.

Ole Miss was definitely winnable. But, losing that game (and knowing they should have won) may be a good motivation for the rest of the season.

Maybe. There’s no way to really know. Bottom line is, he didn’t. Hopefully he keeps getting better.

I said the same thing. He bailed out to quick on alot of the pass plays. He was getting some pressure but he was out and scrambling way to fast to find a WR breaking open.

I can't agree with that. From my perspective had he stayed in the pocket against Ole Piss he would have been sacked several more times than he was. The whipped our O-line badly, which having watched Florida move the ball at will against them was very disappointing.

Not that Sam is absolved, he missed several open receivers including one in the endzone the final drive.

I think we're gonna look back at the end of the year with even more regret as we see how mediocre the Ole Miss defense is that we let them shut us down in the first half and kept us out of the endzone on our last two drives of the game.

If the protection was good, he could have. Interior OL was abused

Not too sure about that. #50 really wasn't playing then and #67 was getting his shite pushed in all night. But the injury has made it to where Sam sits in the pocket now instead of trying to be Johnny football which is a really good thing.

Yeah, in the first half he didn't have a pocket to sit in. The O-line was getting blown up most every play in that game.

Either way, it’s better to lose early in this league. The polls have a short memory. I really like how Sam is sitting poised in the pocket now and throwing darts. I was extremely worried about him earlier in the season when it looked like his first instinct was to scramble on every play.

Idiot. He had real players on the dline after his arse. He doesnt have the pocket pedigree and may never.
Please stop comparing pocket passing against McNeese, to giving him a pass against top teams.
Our OL sucked, and his lack of patience before running, was bad

Yes, he absolutely can throw the ball when calm. Problem is hes not able to get calm under pressure

He’s done well in the pocket the last two games but wasn’t really under a lot of pressure in either game.

He still seems limited in his mobility but I’m not sure how much Kentucky will be able to pressure him .

From what I’ve seen , their defense isn’t very good .

Sit in the pocket? He'd have gotten carted off if he sat in the pocket. And the few times he actually had a clean one, I don't blame him for taking off, they dang near got him killed out there.

Yes at times sure, but major those times our OL was getting straight up whipped

And in other news, if it hadn’t been a one night stand, I’d have married your mom.

H seemed to make too many throws without having his feet set. He was jittery…
