If JD5 would have declared for the draft, would Howard have stayed?

I say yes. And we would be in a great place for the next few years with him and Nuss

My thought is absolutely yes. Dude wants to play.

Maybe this year but not after. He’s nowhere close to Nuss yet. He wouldn’t have stayed behind him for two seasons.

I doubt it, but there's no guarantee that BK doesn't go after another portal QB.
That's why I think Howard left.
BK wouldn't give him a guarantee.

If JD declared then Walker would 100% remain at LSU. CBK made a huge mistake by taking JD back for another year

This is exactly right. It baffles me that people think he would be willing to wait around for 2-3 years behind Nuss when he wasn’t even willing to wait out next season.

He would’ve been QB2 to Nussmeier so probably. He didn’t want to compete he gave it one season. Didn’t even finish out his freshman school year and dipped because he wanted the job handed to him.

Enough of these fricking posts! He's gone and it's time to move on!

Yeah, because this would be how you build a team—you shite on the QB that transferred in and won 10 games for you—by telling the QB you don’t want him to return for another season.

This team is better off with a QB that can pass the ball down the field. Having JD as our starting QB again next year sets our program back 2-3 years at least. Do you think Bama, UGA, Ohio State, and Clemson are starting conservative QB’s with limited passing ability?

He didn’t declare so it doesn’t matter

He may have stayed through spring and when Nuss beat him out left.
He didn’t want to sit and he would have unless he beat Nuss out for at least two years.

This is so fricking ridiculous. If Howard wasn’t good enough to challenge for backup QB by the bowl game practices and doesn’t want to wait, then bye. You don’t kick a more than serviceable starting QB for a 10 win team out of the program for a 3rd stringer who can’t make a move yet. You move on to Collins and Hurley and hope one of them hits.

Bama started one for a game this season and he will compete to be their starter next year. He probably won’t win, but Milroe was good enough to be their backup and he couldn’t pass anywhere CLOSE to as well as Daniels.
Are you serious about Clemson? It took them the entire season to move on from DJ U, who also wasn’t as effective as Daniels.
At least make a coherent argument.

Jesus.
We just scored the most points in a season in nearly a decade outside of 2019 and won the West with Daniels at QB.

Daniels absolutely has flaws, but the mental gymnastics people here engage in to take a shite on him and blame him for every problem under the sun is fricking insane.
Nuss has flaws too. Howard wasn’t even on the fricking radar yet, and all of this constant drama and bullshite over him. It’s pathetic.
